Joe Ralls

Just got back from Yeovil and Joe Ralls impressed me a lot today. Last season on loan has done him the world of good and although I always thought he was a good footballer, he was still very young, raw and inexperienced before we loaned him out. Today, Ralls was bright, buzzy, always demanded the ball and used it well. It was a very mature, accomplished performance and I think he will definitely be knocking on the door this season.

Dikgacoi is a powerful lump, I can see him going into some crunching tackles in competitive games but unfortunately, he gave the ball away numerous times today. We kept the ball a lot better when he went off and I don't think it's a coincidence we put together some lovely moves and scored a few goals after Dikgacoi was replaced. He's behind on match fitness mind so I'm hoping he can fill the "midfield destroyer" void we seem to be lacking at the moment. There will be games we need a more physical presence in the centre and I don't think players of Dikgacoi's stature will lose many physical battles.

Mutch just played his normal game really and just went through the motions, receiving the ball, keeping possession, going on the odd forward run. He hit a thunderous shot which got blocked towards the end. But although Ralls impressed me today and Kenwyne got 2 goals, there was nobody who really stood out a great deal because the second half was just a good team performance and we were a class above Yeovil. It's very encouraging considering Yeovil have already played teams like Reading before us and were unbeaten during their pre season until today.

Sound encouraging then.. I do think we need dikgachoi to be fit and sharp though because we need that midfield destroyer like you say this year because when we are against better opposition than Yeovil because we are gonna be an attacking team we need him to add steel and defensive solidity to the team

I totally agree. Hopefully Dikgacoi will add much needed steel to our midfield. I've just responded to your other post giving player ratings.

Good to hear about Ralls, nice to know he dealt with the game against his previous club without too much respect for the other team.
