Yeovil Town 1-4 Cardiff City: Kenwyne Jones on target twice as Bluebirds win, but blow as David Marshall dislocates finger.

Goals from Adam Le Fondre, Matt Connolly and Kenwyne Jones (two) earned Cardiff City victory against Yeovil in Somerset.

The Bluebirds had to come from behind to secure their win, but showed spirit to fight back and triumph at a canter.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer used 22 players during the 90 minutes, but was left with two injury worries.

Goalkeeper David Marshall went off with a dislocated finger after 20 minutes moments before Yeovil went ahead. Then centre-half Ben Turner was taken off just after the half hour with a muscle strain.

Simon Moore, the young keeper signed from Brentford a year ago, took over from Marshall and made a magnificent diving stop to deny home striker Kieffer Moore.

Jay Leitch-Smith put Yeovil in front after 18 minutes as the ball ran loose inside the penalty area and, with Marshall hurt, he was able to turn it into an empty net.

Le Fondre equalised from a penalty after Nicky Maynard was pulled back, while substitute Connolly struck after 62 minutes from a Peter Whittingham corner.

Jones struck the third when he fired home from a right wing cross after 73 minutes and the big striker also hit Cardiff’s fourth in the 90th minute to earn victory in what had been a physical match.

Cardiff City: D Marshall (S Moore 20), J Brayford (BK Kim 74), D John (Fabio 74), J Ralls (J Mutch 45), M Hudson, capt (J Cala 68), B Turner (M Connolly 31), G Burgstaller (M Eikrem 61), K Dikgacoi (A Gunnarsson 61), A Le Fondre (K Jones 61), J Guerra (N Maynard 45), M Daehli (P Whittingham 61).

"Any notion that this was to be a 'friendly' game was dispelled right at the outset with the Bluebirds' fans ignoring the 'mind you language' signs to ridicule the home support and make a defiant protest against Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan." :laughing6:

I think the Yeovil stewards enjoyed themselves even though one was called a fat rolf harris and one being called phil Mitchell, bit heavy handed with regards to the water throwing incident getting the old bill involved.
