Android TV, XBMC and all that

Sun Jul 27, 2014 9:52 am

Hi All

I understand there is an alternative and cheaper way of watching sky channels without paying virgin or sky monumental amounts of money each month.

The way forward is Android TV but i wouldn't know where to start i have noticed on eBay i can get a box for around £40-£70 depending on the apps per-installed.

Has anybody on here got a similar box? If you do can you guide me into a simple box to get in preparation for the new football season.

i have tried to search for a basic guide but im no programmer so i get lost in all the jargon.

thanks

I've had an android box for last 2 years,I was a novice to it all but they come preloaded with everything you need it's not just sky channels but channels from all over the world, you can also add extra yourself (add ons) these are all free load's of you tube tutorials on how to install them, there is also an xbmc forum on fb

Hope that helps let me know if you need any other advice. :ayatollah: I

If it's cheaper to buy without it installed i definetly would as I have had to reset mine twice an reload everything on.

Xbmc is not really like sky though you just get links to watch all sports etc.

Showbox app which can be found on the internet is by far the best app for movies an tv series I have come across.

Xbmc is just the software that has been downloaded onto it. Always the same set up.
