Gary Medel is getting closer and closer to Inter. This is confirmed by Inter’s Director of Football Piero Ausilio, who was interviewed by the Chilean newspaper El Grafico. Ausilio revealed to the newspaper that negotiations to bring the Cardiff midfielder to Inter have proceeded very far: “I can reveal that we are negotiating to sign the player, the negotiations are at a very advanced stage. It is player who we like a lot, even if nothing has been completed yet”.
Inter’s current offer to Cardiff is 9,5 million dollars (7 million euro) plus bonuses tied to performance-based objectives such as reaching the Champions League. Inter want to spread the payments over three years, while the Welsh club would prefer to recieve the sum over two years.

Who the cocking hell brought US dollars into the equation?
The news reports were confusing enough when we were trying to work out if it was Euros or Pounds.
$9,500,000
€7,000,000
£5,500,000

Is that the same guy from Inter Milan that reported last weekend its a done deal and it would all be wrapped up by last Monday ffs

whats he going to come out with next weekend when a deal is still not done because Inter cant afford to pay the asking price or anywhere near it all these reports about Medel are from Italy ffs nothing from us apart from they've bid and haven't met the asking price i hope Tan refuses to sell him to Inter as their trying to force a deal through the media bullying us into it as they feel their such a big club ( Newsflash ) if your that big you can afford to pay for him instead of all this messing around

£5.5m is a shocking fee considering we spent £11m last year. That's just as bad as the Cornelius transfer.

One good World Cup doesn't make up for a half arsed second half performance of the season

The Italian Teams and their press are forever bigging themselves up. Their league is now the poor cousin of Spain, Germany and England. Even the likes of Turkey and France are catching them up.
All these reports are an awful attempt at pro Italian propogand.

Why aren't we holding out for ten mill like the Turks have offered. And why do they want him on loan fkr a year ? That cant be vood if he injurez himself we are stuck with him

I'm pretty sure I saw Portugal had the 4th best league these days by UEFA ranking.

That's the coefficient table showing teams from natuonal leagues and their success in European competitions.
Its currently Spain, England, Germany, Portugal and then Italy.
It is France and Russia (not Turkey) that are catching them up.

Yeah the co-efficient table, might as well take it as rankings as if you're getting further in Europe you're bound to be a better league.
France went down a place didn't they?

The attitude of Italian clubs stinks when they want players. It's always for a loan spell and the transfer fee is way too low, often spread over several years.
Look what Napoli did with Reina. Had him on loan and then decided they couldn't afford him. This just smacks of the same situation.
It would be nice to give Medel what he wants, but if Gala come in at £10m, that's the best deal for Cardiff. No contest.

Fed up of this transfer. Forget paper talk. Cardiff should tell Milan,it is £10m (that is ££££ sterling, not some mickey mouse Euro currency) up front with add ons for Champions League/Europa League etc and 50% of any resale they make.
He was a top player at the world cup and they can afford it. If not then go away.
City should tell him to man up and return to training next week and if he doesn't want to play then he can stay with the U21's.
the club should not be bullied by the Italians. There should be no more negotiations with then unless they are prepared to match what the club want - basically at least all our money back.

Exactly. There are three options here...
1. We accept Galatasaray bid and Medel goes there.
2. If Medel wants to go to Inter that badly then he tells them to match Galatasaray bid.
3. He stays here and rots in the reserves.
Fed up of players treating us like a f**k jar. I thought Tan was Mr. Ruthless. Sounds like he's getting shafted from behind with all of this.

Only if you believe what they're saying, wait till the deal goes through, then we'll know if he's been shafted.

Have no choice really. We over paid and cant afford an unhappy player milling about on 35 large a week.
