La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that Inter’s technical director Piero Ausilio could be having some meetings over the telephone with the leaders of Cardiff City regarding Gary Medel and then fly across the Channel tomorrow.

The hope is that the Chilean midfielder could join the team already in the United States. The agreement with the player (a four year contract with 1.8 million per season) is already there, even if they have to negotiate the cost of the player.

The difference today is about two million, which could be limited if the player were to give up some premiums.

Good to see us holding out the get the best value for our players.

Perhaps should meet them in the middle and reduce our value by a million to get him off the wage bill?

Is it normal to agree terms before a fee with the club? I thought it went the other way round? In which case they are taking the piss so let's just hold out unless of course Gary wants to buy his way out like fabregas did once...
