Sky – Inter won’t increase their offer for Medel,

Sunday July 20th, 2014

Inter tries to close for Gary Medel.

The Nerazzurri already have an agreement in principle with the player for a five-year contract for € 1.8 million per season.

Missing is the yes from Cardiff that is asking for at least 10 million, having paid 13 last summer (he is the most expensive purchase in the history of English club).
The offer is now 7.5 million and won't be increased again.

Inter is waiting because they know that they are strong in the negotiation.

There is still optimism for the closing of the deal.

Sorry Garry, inter wouldn't pay our asking price....so you won't be transferred.

Simples

Move on.

Exactly. Tell his agent to sort out a club willing to pay our asking price or he stays with us. Simple

Are Inter 'strong in the negotiation'?

They want Medel and want him quickly. I'm not convinced that Mehmet Dalman has to jump just because Inter Milan told him to.

I'm sure he will be sold, but (even if we paid over the odds last summer) we are talking about a world class player (if he plays in the right system/team) who massively enhanced his reputation at the World Cup.

Marseilles are supposed to be interested and a lot more dominoes will fall over the next few weeks as the big clubs start to make more transfer moves. Inter might be the quick option but it might not be the best one.

I would love it (Keegan-like) if Dalman managed to move Medel on to Marseilles for £11m up front and left Inter grabbing at fresh air!

I wish Inter would just pay the asking value for Medel, it's not as if they can afford it surely?
Tan can't buckle on this one!!

Cant have what you wont pay for so why waste our time ffs. The price tag was at least £10m before he shined in the world cup so after such a good string of performances why should we drop the asking price sorry inter but f**k off till you can make a real offer and take your shit negotiation team with you

this is quite new to us i know.........but go back a year, how long did it take for Bale to eventually end up at Real?

Fed up of hearing this. The boy has 3 years on his contract, so give them 3 days to come up with the full amount or p1ss off. If Medel doesn't like it he can either play and prove he's worth the money or train with the development kids. We need to sort this and if he's going replace him.

I wonder how much the relegation release clause was in his contract. Has anyone mentioned this in a previous thread yet? I know Campbell was £800k ish. But would be interesting to see re Medel. I don't see how Inter are in a strong position. Until they meet a release clause City hold all the cards! Win!

I know it won't happen, but would be ace if Medel came out and said he would stay and fight to get us staight back up, just like Coloccini did with Newcastle when they were relegated a few years ago.

Meetings take place tomorow.

If you ask me this is just guesswork reporting.

How the hell are Inter in a good position Cardiff do not have to sell, Medel is under a long contract, and no matter what the player wants or has agreed with Inter, it is Cardiff that has to agree, if Inter don’t stop trying to get Medel on the cheap, Cardiffs owner will tell them to take a hike, he has the money behind him to do that, even playing Medel in the Cardiff reserve team if he does not play as he should play as a player under contract. Wishfull thinking mind games by Inter.

Negotiating/setting out demands through Sky Sports/agents talking to journos is a cheap hustlers way of doing things. Dalman must be laughing at them. The club obviously have to deal with player histrionics but there's some way to go to the end of the window yet.

They obviously thought we would roll over but following Medel's performances in the World Cup I think we should stick to our guns ,demand the fee we want and make sure we get our money back minimum !!
