Inter raise offer and want deal sealed on Monday
Saturday July 19th, 2014
Corriere dello Sport writes today that the negotiations between Inter and Cardiff for Chilean midfielder Gary Medel could be finished as early as Monday next week.
Ausilio will met with Cardiff on Monday and hopefully reach an agreement.
Inter have raised their offer to 7,5 million and are willing to buy the player outright, but with a payment plan over a period of time, instead of a loan.

Is that 7.5 million pounds or Euros though?

I thinks it's Euros, but there are add on clauses.

I dont get why we are taking a loss on the player who had a great world cup his value should have gone up to 15m not depreciated if we dont get our money back dont sell him simple really if teans wont pay we should keep him to help us get promoted and get our money out of him that way whoever writes these clauses in contracts need shagging these agents are costing clubs millions you take frazier we coulda easilly got 5m for him this season after getting 7 prem goals but a shitty clause means wer giving him away same with caulker its pathetic

I wouldn't sell him for that. Inter are trying to bully to get him on the cheap. Stand firm tan

Tell them to feck off, there will be other clubs interested, it's nice to see us taking our time and dragging a deal out to try and get an auction, well done City

payment plan... what are we cash convertors or something
are the broke or what
buy him up and get on with it
Sat Jul 19, 2014 5:05 pm
They are paying what he's worth, even after a good World Cup.
We paid massively over the odds for him last season.
When you look at the money wasted on Cornelius and Medel last season perhaps it's not so difficult to see why Malky is still out of work.

I thought marseille was interested but clearly nobody else has actually made a offer or we wouldn't be getting forced into selling on the cheap,I think it's more a case of his wages and getting rid the 2m wages means having the money to fund keeping such a strong squad I don't think we need to keep him but would be class in the championship

It just shows that we paid way too much and for me Inter seems to be paying what he is worth. I think we should sell for that because a unlucky Medel in championship would feck his value over.

An unlucky season in Seria a would feck his value too, and then they'd hand him back. My worry is perhaps they are just after him for cover, because if he was key to them, they would just buy him. His value would plummet if he has a season sitting on the bench, and all the extra clauses for appearances would mean jack.

I would tell inter where to go... 10mil or no deal.....
Sat Jul 19, 2014 9:52 pm
I think a deal will be struck one way or the other.
Sat Jul 19, 2014 10:02 pm
Can't understand why we are prepared to let him go for that price. That's around 5mil and payments which are spread out.. Shocking! He's under contract to us so why give in...
Sun Jul 20, 2014 12:03 am
Tan isn't in need of Cash we shouldn't be accepting crap bids the buy out is £11m straight out Inter should meet it or look elsewhere
Sun Jul 20, 2014 5:09 am
I agree. At that price I would rather keep him for the new season. We could play him in Defence or as a DM.
Either way promotion is worth in excess of £90m
I expected him to go and as per my post yesterday I dont think it will effect us too much if he did leave. But lets not give him away.

I don't know what Gary Medel half of you lot watched last season.
Not athletic enough for the big money league - (Premier league), if he was after an ok first season there would be takers knocking on our door.
Spanish league is now a selling league apart from the big two (financial fair play

)
French big boys only want superstars
Germans have enough top class players
So all that's left is the more technical but slower and closer to international foot Itanlian league. We are lucky to get £7 million

Sky – Inter won’t increase their offer for Medel,
Sunday July 20th, 2014
Inter tries to close for Gary Medel.
The Nerazzurri already have an agreement in principle with the player for a five-year contract for € 1.8 million per season.
Missing is the yes from Cardiff that is asking for at least 10 million, having paid 13 last summer (he is the most expensive purchase in the history of English club).
The offer is now 7.5 million and won't be increased again,Inter is waiting because they know that they are strong in the negotiation.
There is still optimism for the closing of the deal.
Sun Jul 20, 2014 2:56 pm
i'd tell them where to go then if they don't pay what cardiff want
Sun Jul 20, 2014 3:02 pm
I just hope it's not a loan, take whatever we can, cut our losses but get him off the books. His value us at his highest after a decent world cup or until Malky gets another job with big money to spend.

Thank f**k people like you aren't in control of our transfers. Take whatever we can?

If £7 million is way too cheap where are the counter offers ?
Worth a million less than Caulker and one million more than Mutch....... Looks about right.
Couldn't hack it in the premier league, Inter know this and have bid accordingly

It's all bullshit again from those Italians, the figure is £10m to buy outright and over a term that City will be happy with, the Italian newspapers hae been spouting all manner of crap for weeks, just because they want it does not make it so. We are not losing money on the deal
