Citys defence problems

Thu Jul 17, 2014 7:51 am

It is exiting to see new players chosen by Ole coming in.
Seems to be strengthening the attack.
But last season the defence was a huge problem, conceding goals in big numbers.
KTC and Ben Turner and John were all shit last year, get them out, and buy more quality I say.
Still time enough.

Declan John shit? Have I missed something

I also don't think John is good enough yet and would love to see a left back come in and him sent out on loan.

Another CB is needed but otherwise we are OK, just because they weren't great in the prem doesn't mean they will be in the championship.

Although I have no hope for KTC, I would think he will just pick up his wages now until his contract runs out.

Didn't get the whole hype about John. In fairness to the boy though, he was thrown on the deep end.

Brayford and Fabio should be our starting full backs this season.

Forget age for the moment, currently as a defender he is very poor He has talent indeed but has a long way to go before he is even an average defender

Agree about the defensive issues. Not sure I agree with singling out Turner and John. KTC I agree with though.

John has been thrown in too deep, the quality is there but he needs to play second fiddle to a more experienced lb to progress

Ktc for me was our worst defender, I lost count of how many times he lost his man and cost us a goal and his positioning is awful

Think it's just me who thinks our defence is fine

Brayford Hudson/Turner Cala Fabio

KTC Hudson/Turner Connolly John

I would start Connolly ahead of KTC though at right back.

If we sign Fonte though I will of course be extremely happy

Disagree, get him out on loan, playing second fiddle won't help, he needs games.

For me defensively he was poor, good running with the ball but then an poor final ball. All can't be worked on though.
