JOE MASON

Would anyone else be gutted if Mason left us for a starting place at another top championship club?.. Always had a lot of faith in the lad and hope he gets regular on the teamsheet. I think he's as good as any of the new strikers ollies brought in. Looked really sharp and hungry in the Camarthen friendly - Hope he impresses in training and shows his potential!

The boy seems to get put down for his lack of pace. But he reads the game well and makes clever runs to put himself in goal scoring positions.he reminds me of Nigel Clough, a player who never had pace but scored lots of goals.I hope he stays, but at his age we need to be playing him. :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Ole has already said he wants him to stay so maybe he's seen something in him, he is class and still young would be a shame to sell him

I think he was an excellent signing by malky but he wasn't managed rightly. If he had spent the last two seasons out on full season loans, we could have had a cracking player on our hands. Sadly his development stopped and if anything went backwards. I hope ole doesn't do the same and keep him for a sub appearance once every month.

I was expecting him to go - the fact he hasnt suggests he is going to feature heavily this season.

Needs to be given a run in the starting 11 IMO.
Whether that happens with all our forward type players is another matter.

Hope he stays, clever player who makes gaps for others and is willing to pass to a team mate even if he can have a chance on target, also gives 100%. You don't really want same type of strikers who always shoot, need someone who will maybe get you 10 goals himself, but get others 20 goals

I definitely think our front four strikers this season should be Guerra, Macheda, ALF, and Mason.

Can see your sentiments, but backwards? How can you say that? You haven't seen him since 2012/2013, where he still banged goals in off the bench.

Maybe backwards is the wrong word but being two years older and not developed at all is a backwards step in his career.

He needs games this year for sure.

Well it's good job we have Pre-Season, scored a nice goal and looked sharp. Should be grateful Bolton used him instead of sticking him on the bench. :ayatollah:

IMO an honest hardworking player who needs a run to prove himself....he scored goals for us in championship before, and should stay!

He has to be the future of City.

Quality player, give him a chance with the players we have & he'll thrive/blossom whatever.

If he does go hope it's only on loan. Valuable player.
