Defender move ruled out Crystal Palace, Latest news update: 28 minutes ago Crystal Palace have abandoned all attempts to sign Michael Dawson from Tottenham and are focused on landing Steven Caulker.
Eagles boss Tony Pulis is keen to draft in a new central defender and had been heavily linked with a £4million move for Dawson, who looked set to leave White Hart Lane.
Hull were leading the chase to sign him, however the deal is believed to have hit a wall as the player will soon be entitled to a testimonial at White Hart Lane and is unwilling to leave without some kind of pay-off. "It's stalemate with regard to Michael and, at the moment, we are probably as far away from a deal as we can be," Tigers boss Steve Bruce said. With the move looking complicated, Pulis is unlikely to get back involved and is hoping to wrap up an £8million deal for Cardiff defender Caulker instead.
However that will be easier said than done as a host of Premier League rivals are also keen.
