Tony Pulis is set to complete the £600,000 signing of Cardiff City striker Fraizer Campbell.

The Crystal Palace manager will make Campbell his first signing of the summer after persuading him to snub interest from Leicester City and Queens Park Rangers.
Campbell, 26, had a buy-out clause inserted into his Cardiff contract which was triggered following their relegation to the Championship, with the three clubs agreeing to pay the fee.

But Palace have succeeded in tempting the former Hull City forward to Selhurst Park and he is expected to join his new club on their training camp in Austria.

Pulis is working on other signings and wants to clinch a £8 million deal for Campbell's Cardiff team-mate Steven Caulker.

I was a big Campbell fan, Ole asked him to stay and to fight for his place, disappointed in him .

Footballers are fickle, there's no loyalty at all,I hope Campbell is back in the championship where he belongs next season and we bypass them

Can't blame FC low release clause and a chance to play for a manager that's never been relegated.

Malky and Moody should be shot for bending over to such a low buy out clause.

Good luck to him like any ex player, but I don't think he'll be missed massively. Plenty of options as good as or better already within our squad.

I said to my grandson when the players did thier walk around after the Chelsea match that Campbell wouldn't be here this season. Like others I had no idea about this rediculous "buyout" clause that MM allowed into his contract but for me it was his body language that gave it away.

The thing is with players like Campbell you know they will always give thier best but, is thier best good enough for the PL? The fact that Campbell is making a career out of playing for clubs like Hull, Cardiff, Sunderland who with the greatest respect to them all only flirt with the PL, some longer than others it can be said, but now only Leicester and Palace have shown an interest and are they any different to Hull, Cardiff or Sunderland?

Until an established top 8 PL team shows interest then Campbell, in my opinion, is going to continue as a journeyman and I bet his agent has had the buyout clause included in his next contract, Why? because he isn't good enough to play for a top 8 team and is just a player worth taking a punt on if you can get him under £1m.

Always did his best for us but as Ben Turner said at the weekend we needed the players who don't want to be here moved on so we can concentrate on next season.

Thanks for everything Frasier just sad it wasn't enough to make a difference at Cardiff City.

Gutted, it looks like he's gone. This is a wonderful signing for Palace. Campbell will fit in perfectly there and with their more direct style of play, I can see Campbell scoring goals for them. Campbell won't have to clear the ball from the edge of his own box and then run past a stationary Zaha to chase his own clearance when playing for Palace. People can say what they like about Campbell but the fact is, Campbell always gave his best and run himself into the ground for us. If every player put in the same effort as Campbell, particularly during the second half of the season, we wouldn't have been relegated.

I wish Campbell well and I hope he has now finally found a club where he can play regular games plus have a chance of just solely concentrating on his own game as a striker, instead of doing the work of several others. I believe this move will allow Campbell to prove his doubters wrong and show he is more than capable of playing in the Premiership. I wish Campbell the very best and I thank him for all his efforts for us. We will be a lot worse off without him.

^^^^^This^^^^^

Put some good effort in on the pitch and think he would be better suited to us (hopefully) at the top end of The Championship than a struggling Palarse at the bottom end of the Premier League

Than again, I guess nowadays money and the lure of the Premier League talks and the only 'loyalty' is from the fans themselves of each club (Swansea apart, because obviously they are only taking a break from the rugby whilst they finally have something positive to focus on ;) )

At least now Ole knows what is happening and if we can sort the Medel and Caulker situations out in the next couple of days then we can all move on and concentrate on Cardiff City FC

Good luck Frazer, he gave us the impetus in our promotion season, getting vital goals when we were showing signs of starting to struggle.
Should have scored more goals last season, can remember him missing a few excellent opportunities, but I'm sure I read something recently about us creating the fewest scoring opportunities.
He was left isolated far too often and played on the wing occasionally.
We're Cardiff City, we're back in the Championship, yet many think he should turn down the chance to continue in the Prem and on far less wages?

He was a great workhorse but a very poor Striker, it's all about taking the chances and he can't do that often enough, so not too gutted he's gone to be honest especially as wanted to go, I think we will be better without him.....

We don't need players who don't want to be here.fair play to javi guerra who could have stayed in Spain but still knew we were in a relegation battle when he signed.let's just hope we go straight back up & pass these players going the other way.

Dont blame him to be fair.

Stupid release clause, its not as if we signed him when we were in the prem.

Was a big Frazer fan. Not so much for his outright striking but his workrate was second to none. He always looked busy.

I am sad that he thinks his future lies with Palace. Who knows - we might get him back in June :)

Good luck to him glad its finally sorted
But if Cardiff go back up they should invest in better strikers than him.

So as he officially signed for Palace?
I seem to recall a similar story last week about QPR
capturing Caulker.

Why should he be loyal when fans are so fickle. Look at the way fans turned against Whits. Look after number 1 I say!!!!!!!
