A forum for all things Cardiff City

Southampton centre back Jose Fonte wants to leave St Mary's and Cardiff are preparing to up their original bid. Cardiff City are prepared to offer £5m for him after having a £3m bid rejected. He only has 12 months left on his contract.
Liverpool striker Iago Aspas has joined Sevilla on season long loan, Sevilla have option to buy Aspas at the end of the season.
Ecuador striker Enner Valencia is undergoing a medical at West Ham ahead of a £12million move from Pachuca.
Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis is set for a medical at Chelsea.
Nice and Columbia goalkeeper David Ospina has signed for Arsenal in a deal worth £3m.
Aston Villa are closing in on 25 year old Swansea midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng after he impressed on loan at Sunderland last season. With only 12 months remaining on his deal at the Liberty Stadium the Swansea are ready to cash in on him.
Bobby Zamora held further talks with QPR chiefs this morning as he bids to thrash out his future.
Liverpool are reportedly preparing a whopping £45million bid for Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus.
Tottenham have leapfrogged Chelsea and Arsenal in the race for Everton star John Stones after launching a fresh bid for his services.
Swansea quartet Pablo Hernandez, Michu, Wilfried Bony and Ben Davies all want out and want to leave the liberty stadium this summer.
Mon Jul 14, 2014 11:07 pm
Aston Villa are close to signing Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-yueng for a fee approaching £6 million, according to the Daily Mail.
Ki, 25, is set to return to England following his country’s poor performance at the World Cup in Brazil. Ki played for Sunderland last season and was fantastic in their midfield as they survived relegation and reached the Capital One Cup final, only to lose to the Premier League champions Manchester City.
He spent the season on loan with the north east club and only has one year left on his contract with Swansea City, and now looks set to join Paul Lambert’s squad as their first major signing of the summer as Lambert looks to strengthen his squad to prevent another relegation battle.
For long periods last season, Villa struggled and just about stayed in the Premier League as the teams below them were much, much worse.
Ki has not travelled with Swansea on their pre-season tour and could be set to complete his move to Villa Park within the next week. He would bring a lot of quality and passing ability to the centre of their midfield and allow them to be able to keep the ball a lot more.
The south Korean is excellent in possession and will add a lot of talent to Lambert’s side.

Liverpool set to seal Lazar Markovic signing from Benfica on Tuesday
• £20m winger Markovic to be Liverpool’s fourth summer signing
• Iago Aspas leaves Anfield for season’s loan at Sevilla
Liverpool are likely to finalise a deal for Lazar Markovic on Tuesday. The Benfica winger has been on Merseyside for a medical and will become Brendan Rodgers’ fourth signing of the summer.
His arrival will take the club’s spending close to £60m after Liverpool triggered the 20-year-old’s £20m release clause a year after the Serbian moved to Portugal.
Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Emre Can have already been added to the squad and negotiations are continuing in an attempt to sign Belgium’s Lille striker Divock Origi.
Rodgers is looking to strengthen further following the £75m departure of Luis Suárez to Barcelona, which is expected to be completed this week.
The Liverpool forward Iago Aspas has returned to Spain on a year-long loan with Sevilla after a disappointing maiden season, having moved from Celta Vigo last summer.
Sevilla announced the clubs had agreed a loan deal, with the option for them to sign Aspas permanently.
Aspas’s departure may help in Liverpool’s pursuit of the Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno. The clubs appeared to have reached an impasse over the fee, with Liverpool unwilling to meet a £20m valuation, but talks have continued.
Mon Jul 14, 2014 11:19 pm
Steve Bruce lines up double swoop but Michael Dawson deal is on the ropes
STEVE BRUCE is set to complete a £4m double swoop for defenders Harry Maguire and Andy Robertson this week.
But the Hull boss fears his £4m move for Michael Dawson will bite the dust after two weeks of talks with the Tottenham skipper.
Bruce is waiting to hear from Sheffield United and Dundee United whether they are ready to accept £2m apiece for centre-half Maguire and left-back Robertson.
The Tigers have tabled improved bids for Maguire, 21, and 20-year-old Robertson after their initial bids were rejected.
Bruce wants them signed before his players return from their Portuguese training base on Friday.

Swansea be mad to get rid of Ki, looked fantastic last season.
Enner Valencia to West Ham is quite big, looked quite the player in the Ecuador games.
Fonte would be brilliant for us.

Enner Valencia’s move to West Ham from Pachuca may take until Wednesday to complete.
The striker, who scored all three of Ecuador's World Cup goals, attracted the attention of a number of Premier League clubs during his time in Brazil.
West Ham, though, came out on top and Valencia underwent a medical ahead of his £12million move.
Valencia will become manager Sam Allardyce’s fifth summer signing when the deal is completed following Monday’s medical.
Although any official fee is likely to remain undisclosed - Pachuca chairman Jesus Martinez has insisted Valencia will not be allowed to leave the club for anything less than a Mexican league record.
West Ham have also enquired about Stuttgart defender Antonio Rudiger.

Are you in the premiership still?
This thread is nothing more than premiership football, thought you was in the championship or do you still consider yourself a premiership side and think you're going to bounce straight back?
Our sites only have what the opposition and rival teams have purchased or who they're after and gives us an indication on how teams have strengthened whereas you live in cloud pluto and still can't let go of the premiership. Think you all should take a reality pill and worry about the championship because it's going to be harder than ever to get promoted this season.
Forget about the 2012/13 season as that was probably the easiest time to get promoted from the championship and we finished fourth and 4 points behind Hull.
Reading this forum then a good Majority think you'll walk the league, only if it was that simple. I'd concentrate on what your rivals are doing than what premiership clubs are doing or are you all really glory hunters and are interested in what the big teams in the prem are doing because it looks like it from my point of view.

Chelsea transfers: Demba Ba's Besiktas move depends on Blues agreeing to initial loan deal
The Turkish club want to borrow the Senegal striker for a season before deciding whether to buy him but the Londoners would rather an immediate sale
Besiktas want Demba Ba on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal next summer.
But Chelsea would prefer to sell the 29-year-old striker.
The Turkish club’s president Fikret Orman said: “Demba Ba is an excellent player and we have been in talks with Chelsea for a long time. Chelsea initially wanted £10million for Ba, but we have negotiated a price we are happy with.”
The Senegal international scored just eight goals and made three assists in all competitions last season.
He looks set to be destined for a fringe role again next season following the arrival of Diego Costa and with Chelsea pushing for a return for Didier Drogba as player-coach.
Besiktas are ready to cover most of Ba’s £80,000-a-week salary.
Representatives are in the UK already, with the club on a pre-season camp in Leeds.

Swansea City edge closer to Jefferson Montero signing amid reports winger is en route to Wales
JEFFERSON Montero's £4 million move to Swansea City is edging closer to completion amid suggestions that he is heading to Wales for a medical.
The Evening Post reported last weekend that Swansea hoped to clinch the signing of Montero from Mexican club Monarcas Morelia this week.
And they look to be on course to get the deal done with reports in Mexico suggesting Montero is on his way to in Britain ahead of a possible medical on Wednesday.
Swansea have been quietly confident for some time that they will win the race for Montero, who played in all three of Ecuador's games at the recent World Cup.
And it seems the former Real Betis player is now set to be unveiled as Garry Monk's fifth summer signing.
