I joked in my last thread that if Mats Daehli doesn't win the Ballon D'or next season he's a complete failure, which actually made me think of something.
Is it possible for a Championship/League 1 etc player to win the Ballon D'or. Say for example Macheda scored 70 goals next season (obviously not gonna happen), would he be able to win it, or is it only eligible for players in the highest league of each country?

its for the best player not the top goal scorer.........its possible but extremely unlikely anyone would vote for a second tier player ,who of course is playing against 2nd tier players.........

the golden boot..maybe golden shoe is for top goalscorer..a LOW player did win it but quite a while ago.....not sure if that can still happen........

It's a voting system so anyone can be nominated

so yes, Daehli COULD win it, but for obvious reasons he wouldn't
