PROBLEM WITH NEW STAND????

Mon Jul 14, 2014 11:24 am

Don't shoot the messenger but I was in town last night to watch world cup final and we got chatting to a couple of guys who claimed to be working on the new stand. My mate asked them what they thought of it and they said it was a really good job but the shit will hit the fan when it pisses down! Apparently due to the roof design there will be areas which might get a right drenching!!!!
Hope they were bullshitters.

:o

We get wet as it is in the lower stand, yet we paid to be further back so that we did not, i hope it does not get worse.

Those in the new stand will be okay its the people under the old roof that will get wet.

Rain will get in along both edges where they cut the roof away.

Why they didn't join the new roof to the old roof I'll never know. Well I do, cost I assume.

Maybe at the front of the ninian you'll get a bit wet
Can't see there being a problem with the roof itself :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

The front rows of the ninian always got wet depending on which way the wind went

Wez, your right it is about the wind, but Ridsdale assured us that if we paid extra, to sit further back we would not, but we still do.

They said that the roof should have been joined, also as annis said it's all about the wind direction etc.
Top section is fine,it's the lower ninian that's the problem-and those who sit under the gaps created!!
Time will tell, let's sell some blue wet weather gear :laughing6:

Im in Q and we get wet if the wind blows in, not soaked but a littke damp. If i get soaking with the new roof on i wont be happy.

Re: PROBLEM WITH NEW STAND????

The new stand will be as dry as a bug in a rug, they could not join the new stand to the old roofs as the original planning permissions were for it to be stand alone, to join them up they would have to submit new plans which would have taken for ever to pass, as did the originals, looking at it, the ninian stand will be covered about the same as before maybe a bit more

I sit near the front of the Ninian and getting wet there (until now) had wholly depended on the wind direction, but I am guessing a higher roof with no additional projection will cause a bigger problem than before :(

That doesn't sound good, hopefully it won't be as bad as initially feared. However, the main problem with the new stand is that it's red. :(

But it is a nice shade of red :laughing6:

Don't worry there won't be that many there this season , if it's wet you can move up lol

When you stood on the terrace of the old Bob bank you knew you was going to get wet. But in a new Stadia that is so wrong. But the worse thing is it's pissing down the seats are soaking and the SS are demanding that you sit down. Grrrrr

short of a roof over the pitch i dont understand why people think you can build something that high and not get wet when it starts raining sideways.

Agree. Some people expect miracles. We have a great stadium now, but some people would rather be standing on terraces on the old bob bank, and going for a waz in uncovered toilets. I despair of some of our supporters.

The residents of the new stand will also be complaining that its a 'problem' that they get the sun in the eyes and cant see the game very well for the glare. The higher up that stand you are, the longer you'll have the sun.

Take some shades and take a poncho (blue of course) which will also double up as a seat cover :bluescarf:
