And so he should, not for not winning it, but for the disgraceful performances.

You can hardly blame him for the country's poor player development in recent years.

Scolari resigned in his last club job as Palmeiras were about to be relegated. He has obviously become too soft in his old age

The reports say he stuck to the players who he liked and was unwilling to try other players. 'The Scolari family.' Courtinho of Liverpool, Lucas Moura of PSG were omitted from the squad. Hulk & Fred played even though they were rubbish throughout, Ramires hardly featured

Not surprised. Scolari's choice of strikers was bizarre and as soon as Neymar got injured, you struggled to see where the goals would come from, apart from the brilliant Oscar in midfield. What happened to Pato? Why not play Hulk or Neymar up front and then play Willian or PSG's flying right winger Lucas (why was he left out?) on the wing. The persistance with Fred and then having Jo, who's not good enough as back up was absolutely crazy.

I will also never understand how Paulinho was preferred ahead of Ramires either, especially in the semi final after losing Thiago Silva and Neymar. You would think Ramires' engine in the middle to compensate for those losses would have been the logical choice.

Scolari got so many things wrong. Personally, I would have brought Marquinhos into centre back to partner Silva, then had David Luiz and Ramires holding with an attacking 3 of Neymar, Oscar and Lucas supporting Hulk.

I think we all would of liked a chance to pick a Brazil squad/team and come out with something alot more sensible than Scolari did   :thumbright: :thumbright:

Hulk was playing out wide, stick that big lump upfront! Great point about Ramires & Luiz holding....know eachothers game well. That Marquinhos cost PSG a fortune, a mystery why Scolari omitted him :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Alex of PSG is a good defender, the one who played for Chelsea...A bit of no nonsense defending instead of the clowning around at the back that embarrassed a nation

Personally I still think Kaka and Ronaldinho could have done a job there. Especially Kaka, had a great season for AC Milan.

But for the game against Germany where Neymar was out, I'd have definitely started Willian. Put him in the front 3 or just behind a front 2 with Oscar and they'd have created so many chances. A lot like Germany with Ozil and Kroos

Just read your initial post and I missed out Coutinho! Scolari could have played Hulk or Neymar up front and used Coutinho or Lucas on the wings, along with Willian. Brazil definitely had the players to win the world cup but Scolari blew it.

Right decision, but looks like Brazil's 'issues' are far deeper than that, Annis

The right team won the tournament in the end
