Inter Milan have offered Cardiff £7million for Gary Medel but still want to take him on an initial loan.

The Chile international is determined to leave but Cardiff want a better return on their £11m investment.

Medel had a good enough first season with the Welsh side to attract interest from around Europe but his performances could not help the club avoid relegation.
Wanted: Inter are after Cardiff and Chile midfielder Gary Medel

Enforcer: The midfielder made 34 appearances for Cardiff in the Premier League last season

He has most recently turned out for Chile at the World Cup, where his heroic displays helped his side progress from Group B - including a 2-0 victory over Spain.
But they eventually fell to Brazil in the second round, losing on penalties after the game finished 1-1.

Napoli are proposing a similar deal for Swansea midfielder Michu with a loan followed by £8million for the 28-year-old Spaniard.

After his world cup performances I can 't see why he should go for as little as seven. We should hold out, give it a few weeks and there will be plenty of money burning holes in pockets. If anything, this story says one thing Nd that is there is very little money in serie a at the moment.

Only offering £7m shows how far downhill and how much of a joke inter milan are these days needing loan deals from the championship offering close to half a players value their crazy nothing like the inter milan a few years ago that could challenge for things we cant accept that offer its a joke I'd tell them we no longer want to do buisness with them all their trying to do with thesr pathetic offers is unsettle our player

My personal view is that Inter should be told, in no uncertain terms, that Medel is not available for loan. If they want him it will cost £10m and that payment is due straight away.

If they dont sign him by the 1st August then we intend to keep Medel for the Championship 2014/15 and in the hope that he will be one less player to purchase when we return to the Premiership in 2015/16.

We dont need to sell. Thats the bottom line. Same goes for every other player who thinks he's to good for us.

Today could be decisive for Gary Medel

Inter will talk to Cardiff City again today regarding their Chilean midfielder Gary Medel. The player has already made his mind up after agreeing a contract with the Nerazzurri for around €1.8 million P/A.
There is still optimism that a deal can be done despite the Bluebirds unwillingness to loan the player out. One alternative is Clement Grenier of Lyon but the characteristics are very different.

Medel is known as the ‘pitbull’ meanwhile Grenier is a far more technical player. Today could be decisive for Inter’s pursuit of the ex Sevilla destroyer.

World News

Monday 14th July 2014

Cardiff midfielder Gary Medel has almost completed his move to Inter Milan, according to reports in Italy.

The Chile star, who played at centre-back for his national side in the World Cup, impressed last season in the Premier League as a holding midfielder.

The 26-year-old only joined the Welsh club at the start of last season but relegation to the Championship has made a move to the San Siro very appealing.

Tuttosport claims Inter and Cardiff will speak on the phone today to complete the deal as Medel has already agreed to a five-year deal earning around £1.75m a season in wages which is set to rise.

Inter were interested in taking the former Sevilla man on an initial loan to check on his suitability to Italian football, but it appears Vincent Tan has dug his heels in to demand a permanent deal.

The Serie A giants opened the bidding at £7m but the Championship club are eager to get close to the £11m they paid, especially on the back of his performances in Brazil which included a virtuoso performance in the 2-0 win over Spain.
