Solskjaer worried over Noone’s long standing injury

Solskjaer worried about Craig Noone’s groin injury picked up towards the end of last season.



Cardiff manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fears that Craig Noone is yet to fully recover following his groin injury. The Englishman missed Cardiff’s pre season draw against Bath City, the game ended 1-1.

Speaking to BBC Sport Solskjaer said “It might be something we’ll have to do with at some point” The Norwegian then went onto say “he’s not been training”

The potential loss of Craig Noone at the start of the season could be a huge blow for the South Wales club. Noone showed glances of quality in his 14 league appearances.

Craig Noone signed for Cardiff in 2012 for a reported fee of around £1 million. In his first season with Cardiff he was promoted to the Premier League. In the 2012-2013 the winger scored seven league goals in 32 league appearances.

The 26-year-old starred for the Bluebirds last season before injuring his groin in the 2-1 defeat by Everton in April.

Noone missed the last five games of Cardiff's doomed campaign when they were relegated.

He returned to action on Saturday in a 3-0 pre-season win over Carmarthen but aggravated the problem and now looks set to miss the Bluebirds' Championship kick-off against Blackburn on August 8.

Boss Solskjaer said: "Craig's groin needs work on it because he had the same trouble from March last season.

"He worked to get back fit over the summer, but now it is back so we'll have to look into it. "

Craig hasn't trained this week and is having another test in the next few days to see how he is."

I wonder how much longer he will be out if he has the operation?


Probably best to just get it done, and manage without him now ?

Yea get it sorted now, he wont be able to play 100% with the worry in his mind and its possible he could make it worse, just get it done..

Get it sorted but get a replacement for start of the season,should never have left Conway go he'd have stepped in this season big-time

Should av had surgery and this sorted when he became injured back in march. Would then av had time to recover and then get a pre season in.
