CCST Latest News post:
As members may be aware, tickets for the pre-season friendly with German Bundesliga giants VFL Wolfsburg on August 2 will initially only be on sale for the newly developed Ninian Stand.
We have been asked to point that any fans who don’t want to sit on red seats may want to purchase blue covers on the internet. They are being sold by several sellers on ebay. Alongside is one example.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371037024369. Some start for as little as £1.

Im not sure that CCST should be doing things like this? Surely using their influence to negotiate with Tan as opposed to getting involved with these type of things?
What I mean to say is, will VT be less lightly to be willing to meet the Trust after sending emails like this and promoting the alternative shirts?
Sun Jul 13, 2014 7:47 pm
Are those things not going to be a pain in the ass when people are getting up and down?
Sun Jul 13, 2014 7:49 pm
Stewards will be all over this, quoting some shite health and safety bollocks...shoukd be an interesting afternoon

I guess they could have an argument for them being a trip hazard. Couldn't really argue with that either, to be fair.
Sun Jul 13, 2014 8:00 pm
The trust have dropped a bollock here what they are doing is really stupid, myself if I owned the club, the trust would be out on their ear, although if I did own the club there would have been blue seats
Sun Jul 13, 2014 8:03 pm
Once again shows the trust have their own agenda.... ffs this is stupid
Sun Jul 13, 2014 8:04 pm
ploy to get people to join
Sun Jul 13, 2014 8:08 pm
A lot of fans have already swopped back to their old seats in the ground.
Sun Jul 13, 2014 8:18 pm
better than ripping them out
well done ccst for having the balls
Sun Jul 13, 2014 8:56 pm
Fair play. I saw the covers doing rounds on Facebook and stuff, but official mail from the trust is a truly nice surprise!

Steve borley @SteveCMB
@mattyaztec thats as maybe but would be a trip hazard and any seat cover would need a fire rating and approved by safety group
Matt wright @mattyaztec
@SteveCMB they are to big but I think they'll fit over and thats all people want to cover the red.
Steve borley @SteveCMB
those covers are designed for car seats which are twice the size of a stadium seat so won't fit.

He's spot on.

I don't think they have to be perfect as long as they do the job.
Sun Jul 13, 2014 11:09 pm
Why don't the fans sitting in that area collect together a load of old blue Cardiff shirts and drape them over the seats. Can't imagine an offical club product, however old, would need a fire safety license or whatever health and safety rubbish they want

How are anyone taking this serious without noticing the trust wanting a meeting to speak to Tan then wanting to take a form of action, the thought of the idea is good but they have truly embarrassed themselves here.
Mon Jul 14, 2014 6:13 am
The trust is absolutely right to get involved in this kind of thing. What's the point of them otherwise?

Tan doesn't want to negotiate with fans. The only thing tan listens to are the 8 voices in his head.

Just wear blue ????
No one could see them anyway if you're sat in them, and they look shit ....
Mon Jul 14, 2014 8:51 am
ive already posted alternatives
if only the ccst had done a tiny bit of research
you wont get in the ground with a car seat cover... but you will wearing a blue rain mac that you can then take off and drape over the seat
Mon Jul 14, 2014 9:20 am
If ever I choose to get a ticket for the new stand Ive already got a seat cover - its a pair of jeans covering my fat arse
The club have obviously tried to negate the opportunities for covering the seats by moving ticket holders to the centre block, giving the club the opportunity to put there own covering/netting on the 2 side blocks.
As for the trust getting involved - not a great idea if the want to start having regular meetings with club officials

Just to make it perfectly clear , it is NOT Trust board policy to encourage people to buy these seat covers. If people wish to as individuals , that is entirely up to them , but it is NOT a Trust initiative.
I am currently trying to find out how the suggestion got onto the Trust website as is wasn`t authorised to be put on there by the Trust board (we haven`t even discussed the issue).

All options need to be looked at with the ultimate aim of getting Tan to WAKE UP and return our identity . Well done to the trust! Finally becoming pro active in our fight to return to blue! Obviously not every idea/ plan will gain universal approval from the fans but at least different ideas are being tried

As a Trust board member Gavin I am sure that this is not a Trust initiative , and I don`t even know how it got on to our website (I am currently trying to find out). If people want to cover the red seats that`s entirely their choice , but not something the Trust is either promoting or criticising - we haven`t even discussed it.
The promotion of the alternative shirts is an entirely different manner as it is an issue supported by the vast majority of our members and , as it happens , unanimously by the Trust board members.
