Well it looks like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s phone has been ringing a lot in the last week or so.

We have been told the news that Ben Nugent has been loaned out to Yeovil Town, and in the post match interview after the Bath City away game, we were told that silver fox himself Kev McNaughton will probably be going to Bolton for a season long loan.

In the press, it has been reported that Steven Caulker is on the verge of joining Crystal Palace, and for me personally I hope it’s not true.

I have a huge amount of respect for Caulker. Thrust into a club that was being ripped apart internally he managed to come through the season with his reputation and dignity intact as captain for the majority of the season.

Ok, we had a leaky defence, but that was through no fault or effort by Caulker. It takes four defenders to be a good unit.

No disrespect to Crystal Palace, but Steven should be playing for at least an Everton or a Tottenham, teams that are not going to be battling relegation and pushing for Europe.

I am stunned that Liverpool did not follow up their interest in him, as I honestly believe that he is in the top five of English central defenders, and with a stable club and a steady defence unit around him, I think he would shine.

The future of David Marshall has also been a hotly debated topic in South Wales in recent weeks. He is still being linked heavily with Southampton and Arsenal, but he has said previously he doesn’t want to go. I don’t blame him.

At Arsenal he would be a backup keeper behind Wojciech Szczęsny, and he’s far too good for that. At Southampton, he would be battling his former Celtic team mate Artur Boruc and Paulo Gazzaniga so why would he go there?

He has established himself as our number one, and he obviously believes in the club’s potential to return immediately to the Premier League, so why would he want to go somewhere and be used sparingly?

Gary Medal has all but left the club body and mind, but the club are sticking to their stance of only selling at the right price.

As I have said before, we need to get the squad settled within the next couple of weeks, and we’ll then know the men who will be taking us back to the Premier League.

Medel left the club "in mind" around about January.

Realistically only Caulker, Medel and Marshall should go, since the others aren't class in any sense of the word.

Caulkers reputation intact, I can point out the reason spurs let him go, he's a piss head, malky had to apologise on his behalf when he was thrown out of railway pub in penarth, when he left he smashed up cars by walking across them,he's a liability when he's on the piss.
