When do we ask Tan if it's his money or our clubs debt?

NigelBlues posted this from the other board.

We are now 27 months on from Vincent Tan's promise to turn all club debt to equity which foolishly had the very gullible amongst our support (sadly a significant number at the time) together with a few seemingly appointed disciple agents to accept red, reluctantly or otherwise.

In return to date, we are back to where we started from but with vastly increased debt but at least a more united fan base, united against the rebrand that far too many accepted in the first place.

However Vincent Tans key promise to clear all club debt is no nearer changing at all. His excuses for not doing so already have become flimsier and flimsier, his promise has changed from all debt to some of it.

Broken promises, we've been here so many tomes and it always damages the club. Just ask our wonderful life president Hammam who wrote the book on it. I'm not sure why they get referred to as broken promises. They call them something different where I come from in Cardiff.

The question now needs to be asked. How and why can Tan continue to do what he likes in opposed when his key decisions financially harm the club and increases our debt? The Board never question, indeed he makes sure he has the overwhelming vote but even our local men seem to sit on their hands. Shareholders weren't even allowed an annual general meeting last year. They may be small in shares held but they are large in investor numbers and are the people who will still be here once the Tan show leaves town.

The new shirts, looking like the budget range from Sports Direct, is another unmitigated disaster. They will sell less than the Premier League shirt which has been the worst selling ever in the PL. The club shop reputedly lost £2M in revenue last season, there is nil evidence of any new sponsors, commercial revenue or opportunities from the Far East and we've now waited two years to see some.

I hope Tan delivers on his latest "promise" to meet supporters and I hope we he does, this gets fully aired. If he was Chairman of any business behind decision making like his, ignoring his customers and not meeting with his shareholders, he would have been ousted long ago.

Yep lets just sweep it under the carpet and forget about it.

We should be ramping this up now not having a knock at every article about it. It is not like its a daily occurrence far from it but as soon as someone says anything its a not again. You get the impression some of us dont want our traditional colours back.

:old:
As I respect peoples need to fight for club history, values or whatever - but this forum needs to split General Chat into two or three sections, e.g.:
- General Football chat
- General Club Politics
- News and media

So many respawns of these kind of threads are a tad boring and repetitive - not saying anything about the arguments...

It has been considered but would not work.

People would still post in the main forum regardless if there was a separate forum for any subject.

I'm not pro red. I am though like many fed up of the same old arguments being regurgitated time and time again. It is one of the reasons other forums are springing up to just talk football.

Not going to happen at the moment annis because it doesn't make financial or business sense. We have to be a established premiership club for that to happen and from my point of view that's the best chance to get a new owner and blue shirts back

Agree with both of you.

Whatever happens Annis we need to keep the Blue campaign going. These individuals who are complaining about it well they better not come back to us crying when the red gets established due to the apathy that seems to have generated lately.

It's not that ppl are pro red boys it's that we are realistic and understand under tan we won't ever be in blue at home, the sensible ones among us know that another season with similar atmosphere as last yr and we won't succeed,so to answer your question annis, wat happens then, well at that point we then can atleast say as a fan base we have put aside our feelings to help the club be successful and it's not happened and then we can really push for the return to blue with a new owner but at the minute we ain't being fair on the players representing our club.owners come and go and while we got this nutcase as owner we won't be blue but we are being a part of the club's demise by not giving 100% behind the club.last season the loudest we was all game was 19:27 and tbh that's embarrassing I can remember teams hating coming to us cos we was all so vocal we need to get that "nobody likes us we don't care" attitude back and concentrate on backing the team again which we seem to have moved away from

we all know he as loaned club the money? so common sense tells you the club itself does not or will not have assets to pay tan back unless we stay in premier long enough to make it financially viable to sell us! fans efforts should be purely on getting blue back, the money matters we have absalutely no control over and tan is never going to pull plug unless he can get some sort of return for his investment :old:

That was in Ninian Park, not this stadium if you go other teams football forums they always say we have lost the edge since we moved from Ninian.
On the 1927 , Ole has said himself it doesn't affect the players as they know our feelings towards the red he said it adds to the atmosphere

"Shareholders weren't even allowed an annual general meeting last year."

In fact we have not had a Shareholders' AGM for the last 2 years.

Tan owns 90% of shares why do you need a meeting ? Only a board meeting legally he has to do

Apparently VT has put a further £20mill into the club, don't hear you complaining or asking for a meeting to discuss that
