Defender Holding Out For Liverpool Offer
Cardiff skipper Steven Caulker looks set for a Premier League move with Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace interested, but he is holding out for an offer from Liverpool.
The centre-back was the bright spark in a season that ultimately ended in relegation for the Welsh side, and many tipped him to be picked in Roy Hodgson’s World Cup squad, though he missed out.
And according to the Mirror, QPR and Crystal Palace have both met his £8million release clause and he has been given permission to talk to both clubs.
But the article also reports that the player is desperate for a move to Champions League bound Liverpool, and wants to hold out for an offer from Brendan Rodgers’ side.
The Reds are in need of several new defenders, but appear to be focussing most of their attention on Southampton player Dejan Lovren.
However, he is likely to cost something close to £20million, and at £8million Caulker will certainly be the cheaper option.

I bet he's regretting cocking up the initial negotiations with them then...

He needs to make up his mind. This is getting ridiculous.

Let's be honest if he joined either QPR or palarse he could well be in the same situation in 12 months time.

My personal view is that at the end of every season we inform our players that they have until the 1st August, if they want to be transferred, failing which they will be staying with us.
We can do this. Like it or not Caulker is contracted to play in the Championship next season for us

Good post, rather than agents hanging about until late on in the transfer window, would be better to have like Felianni had in his contact at Everton, where it was £20mish earlier in the window and by the time Manure signed him, the minimum fee clause had expired so they paid £27m.
