4,469 miles, 73 hours on the road and over £1,500... The true cost of following Cardiff City next season

10 July 2014 08:52 AM By Matthew Southcombe

We've crunched the numbers to work out just what it's going to take to follow Cardiff City throughout the Championship next season

The Championship fixtures have been released for the 2014-15 season and Cardiff City supporters have got some travelling to do, and it's not going to be cheap.

We've taken a look at the mileage, the pies, the energy drinks and the tickets and worked out an estimated cost to show just how expensive it is to follow Cardiff City in the Championship.

We've worked out the mileage to each of the Championship grounds from the Cardiff City Stadium and the fuel costs are based on government guidelines.

The longest trip for Bluebirds fans will be to the north east to watch the team play against Middlesbrough, 294 miles away.

We also assumed that you'll be needing a sausage roll, packet of crisps and an energy drink for the journey and you can't resist having a pie at the game.

Take a look and find out what's in store for Bluebirds fans next season...

You can add a slab of 'artois' for each journey, as well as a few pints around the ground, the prices quoted in the OP are just the tip of the iceberg.

We wont even get started on casual matchday clobber

The "working class" are being priced out.
I read season tickets at arsenal are as much as £2000.

There are many City fans who travel further who live down west that travel regular to watch City home and away.

I got regulars on Carlos Coaches who come from Llanelli and a few even further west.

Whever did those figures I want to travel with him to away games if he can do the 23 away games in 73 hrs, It would take me nearly half that time to do Middlesbrough with some of the coaches I've had. :bluescarf:
