Wilfried Zaha, still only 21, can he stay at the top still?

Wednesday 9th July 2014

Following reports that Louis van Gaal does not envision Wilfried Zaha in his future plans, the 21-year-old may now need to seek a move away from Manchester United.

Manchester United have already stated he can leave for half the price they paid for him.

Zaha arrived at Old Trafford from Crystal Palace in January 2013 for a reported £10million, which could have risen to as much as £15million based on performance related add-ons.

After failing to make an impact at United and playing out a largely unsuccessful loan spell at Cardiff City last season, incoming Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly told the youngster to find a new club.

If the reports are true, here are three possible Premier League destinations for Zaha:

Newcastle United

Newcastle are the side to have been most heavily linked with a move for the 21-year-old. Pardew is said to be extremely keen on adding the winger to his ranks at St James' Park, and the prospect of a cut-price deal will no doubt tempt the 52-year-old to make a move.

Pardew had shown an interest in a loan move for the United man in January, but missed out as Zaha sealed a deal to see out the season at Cardiff City.

Newcastle signed their first Englishman in over two years last month bringing Jack Colback to Tyneside, and Pardew could be in the pursuit of another as the Newcastle manager's preference of dealing in the French transfer market appears to be beginning to wane.

Crystal Palace

Zaha came through the academy at Crystal Palace and has made over 100 first-team appearances for the Eagles.

After a remarkable turnaround in fortunes under Tony Pulis, Palace are ready to strengthen and push on next season and the return of Zaha would certainly add quality.

The 21-year-old could add serious competition for Jason Puncheon and Yanick Bolasie, and leave the Crystal Palace manager with plenty of options in the wide midfield department.

on his day he is quality as we all seen when he came on as a sub against norwich, and single handed won the game. But his attitude stinks.

It is the thing that separates good players from great. Attitude. He doesn't have it. I'm not saying he won't go on to be a decent Premier League player but I reckon he'll never be better than say Jermaine Pennant.
