IT IS YOUR CALL, WHAT DO YOU DO ?

Mon Jul 07, 2014 8:23 pm

Hypothetical situation.

You have been charged with representing fans of Cardiff City and you have a meeting with Vincent Tan to build relationships and to build bridges.

You are instructed that you can't have everything you want but Tan will give something in return for him having something he wants.

So there is a chance for compromise and you have influence on what it can be, what do you go for ?

return to blue but the bluebird goes and the badge stays ,what would you do Carl ?

Return to blue with the horrible badge would satisfy me, we have had worse badges.

To be honest Wez, I have always said that the badge and the Bluebird is to me more important as if there is a Blue kit then I can wear it and buy it for my daughter.

Other merchandise I would buy as well as polo tops, t-shirts etc without the beer mat badge on it.

The stadium frontage would look better with our Bluebird big and proud too.

Honest answer to your question Carl, for me it's all or nothing! If he is not willing to give us the blue kit and badge back then I want him out personally. And if it were up to me I would drive him out as a group of fans because I don't believe he will ever give us our identity back.

Obviously I'm just speaking for myself here, no idea if I'm in the minority or not. :bluescarf:

Agree... The Bluebird is the key for me.
If the badge was modernised with 'only' a Bluebird then that would be enough for me. Yes, blue is our club colour but we've played in all sorts of colours over the years.
The Bluebird is Cardiff City.

Carl, I am being told again tonight that Tan is still going to meet us.

I really hope so and Respect can be shown by both sides and we can hopefully make him understand :thumbright: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

I'd ask for a return to a blue kit and original bluebird badge.

He could keep the circa 300% plus increase in profits from increased shirt sales.

He could keep the profits from the extra season ticket sales.

Heck he could even keep the adulation and respect he would receive from fans of a united club with a sense of direction and identity.

Blue first kit and original bluebird badge is vital. If he did that I'd start buying things once more from the shop. What has red and a dragon got to do with CCFC?

StT.

I'd take an the shite badge, blue kit. Red on basically all away games where possible

Re: IT IS YOUR CALL, WHAT DO YOU DO ?

Mon Jul 07, 2014 9:45 pm

id meet him half way, half red and half blue. Would at least make the stadium look better.
Maybe he would make the Bluebird on the badge a bit more prominent as-well then.
Fans have our bit and he can have his bit. I understand he would want a compromise and that would be mine.
I would love to stay blue but cant see Tan going for that

Re: IT IS YOUR CALL, WHAT DO YOU DO ?

Mon Jul 07, 2014 9:48 pm

COMPROMISE hmmmmmmmm
Home kit blue shirts old badge red shorts red socks
Away kit red shirt old badge blue shorts blue socks
Both sides then get what they want :bluescarf: :ole:

Blue kit and a prominent bluebird for me. The compromise would be he could call the stadium what he likes.

Re: IT IS YOUR CALL, WHAT DO YOU DO ?

Mon Jul 07, 2014 10:14 pm

I'll be willing to take a blue and red home kit and in return id want the original badge back, or at least a redesign ditching the dragon and making the bluebird the prominent emblem.
I think this is a fairly realistic outcome

Re: IT IS YOUR CALL, WHAT DO YOU DO ?

Mon Jul 07, 2014 10:28 pm

I place greater value on the blue kit than the badge though. I'd happily take Coty's newly unveiled away kit as the home kit & the home as away.

The blue back and the badge back. And he can have his red away kit. Compromise he won't compromise

Carl, it has to be a blue home kit with the proper badge. Yes we are all singing we will always be blue.

However the club crest is just as important as the colour go the shirt. I do not connect myself with that badge at all.

1st priority old badge back and then I'll buy merchandise. 2nd priority is blue home kit or compromise kit red shorts, socks, blue main shirt.

No compromise. You have to make him see that he has lost the battle with the fans regarding the rebrand. The whole fan base is almost entirely BLUE. He can keep us red and continue to be a figure of hatred and ridicule or he can change us back to BLUE and lead a united Club and united fan base back to the Premier League and become an instant hero. Most sensible people would choose to be a hero rather than be hated. :bluescarf:

Bang on the button here Chief. We have got him rattled and on the ropes. Now is not the time to go soft, now is the time to keep up the pressure and not cave in.
And lastly I have said before I do not agree with so called fans leaders as it's down to there personal opinions and not the representative of the masses.Last time the so called fans leaders sold us down the river. No compromise we want our identity back please nothing less :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Badge over colour for me, can't believe I'm saying this but when a dictator takes away everything, I'll be just glad to get something back. Defeated.

Because compromise means give and take on BOTH sides then i would say Blue kit at hime Red kit away keep the current badge for now but with the Bluebird far more prominent :old:

I strongly disagree. How many City fans do you know, want us playing in red shorts and red socks at home? - that is NOT what we want at all, that would not represent the Cardiff City that I know.

NO compromise on home kit... away kit he can dress the team in gold lamé if he wants!

No compromise, return to Blue and original badge. To tackle the Championship the club and the supporters need to be united.
This is the only way that I can see us all pulling in the same direction.
If the meeting gets the go ahead let's hope that Tan listens and does the right thing, although I think Tan needs to consult in the whole season ticket fan base regarding any future changes. :bluescarf:

Oh my gut feeling is that Tan wants a compromise, but has already made up his mind of Red & Blue home kit.
That would explain why he has gone ahead with the new Red seats in the Ninian stand and i think that what he would want all around the top tier of the stadium. Hmm we wait and see!! :bluescarf:
