Man United Agree to Sell £7m Winger as Newcastle United Prepare Bid
Opinions  Is Zaha worth £7mill?

by The Newshound Monday July 7th, 2014

St James’ Park side want Old Trafford wide-man.

Man United have agreed to sell winger Wilfried Zaha for a cut-price £7m fee and this has alerted Newcastle United according to the Daily Mirror.

The 21 year old moved to Old Trafford in January 2013, before finishing the 2012/13 campaign helping his Crystal Palace to secure a Premier League return, and last term was handed just 28 minutes of top tier action before former boss David Moyes decided to send the England international to Cardiff City on a loan deal.

The £15m signing is seemingly not part of Louis van Gaal’s plans and now Magpies boss Alan Pardew will look to persuade owner Mike Ashley to dig out his wallet.

Ashley has no qualms about selling Newcastle United’s top talents and Pardew will hope to use some of the £23m made from the sale of Yohan Cabaye to PSG in January to fund a bid for Zaha.

Zaha may well be keen on a fresh challenge and his chances of breaking into van Gaal’s first team set-up seem steep given the likes of Adnan Januzaj, Juan Mata, Ashley Young, Nani and Luis Antonio Valencia barring his progress.

Newcastle United boss Pardew may feel Zaha could be an ideal replacement for French winger Hatem Ben Arfa, who has blown hot and cold over the past couple of seasons.

Pardew to replace a winger that blows hot and cold with one that just blows cold.

He had a torrid time with us but I think 7 million sounds about right, he could become rejuvenated at a new club, he is worth a punt imo

Gavin, Zaha is class, my worry is, he only shows it in patches and when he wants.

Definitely. He did have a game or two for us to show he can be a match-winner and an individual game-changer.

He needs a permanent move now and to settle down with a manager who likes him.
At 7m I think he is vastly over priced.

Not a bad price, potential is there.. just needs to get his attitude sorted.. 15 million going for 7 million, not a huge price tag for Newcastle.
