Cardiff City's Steven Caulker.
QPR are on the verge of signing Cardiff defender Steven Caulker, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed.
The two clubs have agreed a fee for the 22-year-old, who worked with Redknapp at Tottenham.
Caulker impressed for the Bluebirds last season, although the Welsh club ultimately finished bottom of the Premier League.
“The clubs have agreed a fee,” the Cardiff boss Solskjaer told Wales Online. “It’s been accepted and now it is up to Steven to decide. At the moment QPR is the only one I know about. I have spoken to them and agreed everything, its over to Steve now, We would of liked him to have stayed with us "
“It’s up to Steven if he goes. Of course the lure of the Premier League might be too much for us to hope he might stay here. He has to make that decision.
“You want to get the business done as soon as possible. We’ve shown that ourselves by signing players early on in the summer. It makes it easier then to get a settled squad.”

Caulker ain't crap James but I do believe Fonte is better, proven himself in a good team who have been getting better every season and play some top football and he isn't a hoofer.
If we get Fonte for 4-5 million I don't think I would complain, could be our captain as well. Him and Cala together would be brilliant.

I hate starting a new season with a new centre back pairing. If it takes time to get on the same wavelength then we have a slow start.
Obviously Caulker is going but Hudson/Turneer or Hudson/Cala may give us a better start having been together for a few seasons and a season respectively.
That said they get paid the cash so should gel sharpish.
