Cardiff’s “Spygate” Verdict Yet To Be Agreed By The Premier League

It is now a full three months since Cardiff City complained to the Premier League about Crystal Palace officials supposedly “spying” on them in the build-up to our last league meeting and still, no agreement has been reached.

Whilst the investigation into “Spygate” enraged Cardiff at the time, it seems the Premier League aren’t quite as incandescent as the Bluebirds. Given the fact that 12 weeks have now passed with no overall verdict, you can only assume that those who hold the power, aren’t too worried one way or the other.

Of course, the initial fear for all Palace fans revolved around the fear that any potential punishment could lead to a points deduction, thus jeopardising our place in the Premier League, but is now being reported on Walesonline.co,uk that, should any punishment that is handed is unlikely to go beyond a fine or a warning.

Having waited this long, it’s almost impossible to predict when the Premier League will actually announce their verdict, but it’s seems safe to assume that we won’t be given much more than a figurative slap on the wrist to conclude this sorry trial.

Mountains out of mole hills in football? Never.

More to the point what about if it was us. I can see a points deduction there.

If Cardiff have an untrustworthy employee there is not much the PL can do about it really.

As Pulis said, Cardiff could have given a false team sheet to confuse Palace so he couldn't 100% trust anything he received. There is no doubt he received something though.

It does raise issues about Ian Moody's professionalism though.

In business you would get the Police involved if an employee was passing "trade secrets" to a competitor. So maybe Cardiff need something formal from PL so they can pursue something legal after.

Or maybe VT used this issue to leverage the apology from Moody, and since that was received he has left this issue to the side.

Very much spot on.

Tan has a huge chip on the shoulder regarding Malky/Moody. Moody is the weak link and Tan has used that to get to Malky.

Moody wasn't a Cardiff city employee at the time. Lack of fair play, and no loyalty to fans and players who he signed personally at Cardiff, but that sums up the man. The real issue is with the Cardiff City Employee that gave him the secrets. They should be named and shamed. Zaha was also a big issue that day for me, and it felt we had 10 men on the pitch.
Is it a mountain out of a molehill? Not really, it was a massive 6 pointer and could have turned our season and our relegation rivals. It was also the game that he was 'blocked' from Directors box, which turned out to be rubbish,
To me , all this is another genuine reason why Tan probably has a personal dislike for Moody. I know I do.

If this was the 'issue' that tan made moody apologise for, then why did Malky apologise at the same time?
Sorry, don't agree. I think there were serious question marks over the competency and ethics of the signings by them both.

Could've Malky and Moody been possibly involved?

Doubtful, but you never know?

Nothing to suggest Malky was involved, tho he did vouch for the man quite publically, and would have been quite tight with him.
I don't even really blame Moody - he was a Palarse employee, and was just acting very in their interest. Disloyal to his old club and colleagues yes, but as I say that is obviously the man. My real beef is with City employees who would have fully known the consequences of giving a team sheet to Moody for such a massive game. I would have expected them to be fully named and shamed and in the stocks. It is beyond stupidity to do it, I wouldn't even be suprised if we later found out money had changed hands.
