My opinion
Fraizer Campbell and Jordon Mutch would be the perfect players to help take us back up, quality and give their all and would both shine in the Championship.
Without a doubt class in the Championship for me.

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=143532Fraizer Campbell could be the perfect fit for Leicester City - Steve Walsh

Fraizer Campbell could be the perfect fit for Leicester City, according to club legend Steve Walsh.
The former centre-half believes City are a couple of players away from having a squad that could really make an impact in the Premier League.
The former City skipper believes a move to Leicester from Cardiff would bring out the best in Campbell.
City have triggered a release clause in the 26-year-old's contract with relegated Cardiff and have held talks with the striker, and Walsh said it was a good move by City.
City have also rekindled an interest in Brighton's Leonardo Ulloa, having had three bids rejected so far for the Argentine.
"Campbell would flourish at City under Nigel (Pearson)," said Walsh, whose autobiography '50 Shades of Blue' is released in November.
"He is big, strong and has plenty of pace, and he works so hard, which is what City are all about. I wouldn't rule him out coming in. That would be a good move.
"I think City do need a striker and these two lads the club have been looking at, Campbell and Ulloa, are quality.
"A big lad who can score goals would be an ideal scenario to play alongside Jamie Vardy and David Nugent."
City have been linked with a host of other strikers, including Benfica frontman Oscar Cardoza and Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner, although those reports appear wide of the mark.
Walsh does not think Pearson will look to make a 'big-name' signing.
"I don't think he will upset the apple cart because they have the nucleus of a squad that can deal with the Premier League.
"I expect to see a couple of signings before the start of the season because there is no doubt he will have to add to the squad."

I think both would leave and both will be big losses IMO

completely agree both are top championship players and would be a massive boost if we kept hold of them, saying that think we will lose at least one with campbell looking as good as gone, all depends if we can persuade Mutch to commit to new contract.

If I was only going to keep one player, then it would have to be JM. Fraizer is a good work horse but for me he does not score enough goals.

100% Annis .
I do think that Mutch , Fraser , Caulker , Medel will go.
Keeping Marshall is massive coup - we are still lookingt at players , if they leave can see 3 replacements but obviously on reduced salary

Saying that give him full season in the championship i think he could get close to twenty, just not clinical enough for the prem league in my opinion.

Agree - he would love Championship but money talks and i guess any player wnats to play at highest level he can

I think we will be ok losing Campbell to be honest, Ole has brought in some proven championship level strikers and as much as I like Campbell he just did not score enough last season.
Really hope we can keep hold of Mutch though he was great towards the end of the season, will be a key player for us and I think he will thrive under Ole. Looking forward to seeing how the style of football is next season going to be completely different (I hope)

I agree both players would be a real success for us in the championship along with the new signings as Campbell should get much better service and would be our top scorer.
I wonder though what is taking so long for Campbell's move to Leicester to be completed, and Mutch should be offered a contract and told take it or leave it as the longer this drags on the less time Ole has to finalise his team for the start of the season.
Although it is a long campaign a good start with a settled team would give us a real boost and healthy attendances.

Its a moot point.
One has a release clause and the other hasn't signed the contract in front of him.
They are obviously what is required to get up as they are wanted by Premier teams.

I thought he would have gone by now so perhaps what's on offer isn't all that great.
Could stay and have a storming season or go and have a frustrating one.

Love to see both of them stay, Campbell is everything that Jones is not, always gives 100% and gives the impression that he actually cares about the club and the supporters. It would not be the end of the world if we were to lose them. Players are always coming and going, and as we are no longer reliant on having to sell our best players to survive, we should be in a position to replace them with players who are capable of doing a good job. I recall being gutted when we sold Toshack to Liverpool, but he was quickly replaced by Alan Warboys, and any of you who remember him will probably agree that he wasn't a bad player.

Tosh was my hero - I was 7 in 1968 when I first went to Ninian Park. I was absolutely gutted when he was sold to Liverpool, especially as we lost out on promotion that season. I still believe now that if we'd kept Tosh we would have gone up, he carried belief in the rest of the squad as well as being a top goal scorer.
Warboys was, I agree, a very good player - I seem to recall there was a gap between Tosh going and Warboys arriving? Anyhow, at the time, it was a signal from the club itself that we didn't have the balls or confidence to hang on to Tosh and let him go at the end of that season. We just grabbed the money and sold him cheap frankly.
When I say "we" I mean the gutless Board of Directors who owned the club then.
As far as the OP is concerned, I agree on Campbell - lots of effort, not enough goals. Mutch I have never warmed to - I know he is an attacking midfielder, scores a few goals, but for a big man he doesn't show enough for me. Will always give the 2 of them my support as City players, but for me I wouldn't be unhappy if we had to sell both.

Frazer has pretty much gone.
As will Mutch, Medel, Cowie and Caulker. Accept this reality now.
If we keep hold of Marshall, Fabio, Noone and Mats then that would be a great summer window for us.
I like Fraizer a lot as a person, but the move suits us too I feel. The modern game asks for teams to play one up top which Fraizer, despite his very high work rate isn't great at doing. His touch and composure let him down a hell of a lot in the Premier League I feel. When Fraizer goes that will leave us with this pool of strikers...
Likely first teamers: Guerra, Macheda (may be played LW next year? But surely destined to end up a striker), Le Fondre...
And also: Kenwyne Jones, Maynard, Mason, Berget, Velinkoja, Healey...
Obviously way too many players. Especially for a team that spent much of last season playing one up top most of last year. Without Fraizer we have a geat pool of players from which to choose from. I hope we can get the most out of Guerra as he sounds like a goal getter. And Macheda, along with Burgstaller are the players I can't wait to see this year. Who knows what they might turn out like?

If they both stay, there's no reason why we shouldn't go up as champions. We've got the best squad we've ever had and maybe even the best squad the championship has ever seen. With players like Mutch, Campbell, Noone, Medel, Caulker, Whittingham, Marshall we should be looking at breaking the 100 point mark.
Just hope Ole can persuade them to stay as it's only 1 season out of the top flight

The strange thing is with their styles of play I think Campbell is suited to the Championship and can't perform at Premier League Level. Mutch is the exact opposite, much more suited to Premier league with the time given on the ball, Championship to tight and rough for him

Totally agree with this.

Get rid of Campbell, I believe that with Le Fondre up front we've got a goal scorer and as far as I'm concerned campbell would be a sub and nuisance value for opposition defence late in games, I don't know if Le Fondre will cover as much of the pitch as Campbell will, long as he's in the box taking his chances that is all that concerns me, not knowing how OGS will set up and what the starting 11 will be, it will make for an interesting selection come start of the season, considering we've signed macheda (not to overwhelmed with) and javi guerra (reserve judgement) with kenwyne jones and maynard (don't know if he'll be here much longer) already here. I can't understand why people rave about campbell at times he needs too much time in front of goal and thinks about what he's trying to do, most of the goals he's scored for us are ones where he's had to react quickly i.e stick an head on it or flicks his leg out to it. he drops too deep at times therefore allowing opposition defences to push up and gets caught offside to many times.
On the other hand I'd like to keep Mutch, without revisiting the Norwich match last season, I think he offered a lot more than Whitts, but how will midfield shape up with Burgstaller and Dikgacoi coming in, as I said it will be interesting how the first starting 11 will look once we kick off at Blackburn.

I would be happy for both to stay but at the same time I won’t lose sleep if they go.
Campbell is good at this level but we have also brought in a number of good forwards so would he get a game every week, I don’t think so. If this Spanish guy is as good as his record suggests then I don’t think Campbell would even be first choice.
Mutch I’m split on, clearly a useful player to have but he often goes hiding in games, I think the premiership may have suited him better than the physical championship where he often seemed injured and his form was hit and miss, for the most part of the promotion season he was awful until the last few weeks when he started to hit form. With 1 year left on his contract I think the 5m the club is asking is a very good and fair price.
