Simple thread. Who is the best player you have ever seen play for Cardiff? (Apart from Ramsey

)
For me it would probably be Jason Koumas

Going back a bit, Ivor Allchurch, Barry Hole, Steve Gammon and not forgetting Colin Hudson.

Eddie Johnson

Alan Curtis was quality when he played for us, he was in his mid 30s, but Division 4 defenders couldn't handle him. He also could take a mean free kick.

For me it has to be Tony Evans from the mid 70's team he was the best striker ive seen in a City shirt or Ian Gibson a midfield dynamo from the early 70's

I know im altering the question a little bit here, but one of the most talented that could have gone much further if he had the drive, would be jay bothroyd. Lets not forget earnies unbelievable goal record, but thats obviously at a lower level. I can't really mention anyone from below 1995.

For me dave Bennett - used to love watching that guy play along with Jeff Hemmerman

Worst thing bothroyd done was leave us to join QPR, never realy happened for him since.
Gary o'neil was a class act when we had him on loan.

Best player - Ian Gibson. Best in front of goal - Toshack.

Phil dwyer for me a true cardiff legend and a nice bloke to will always talk to u if u stop him etc

Willie Anderson I would say was one of the most consistent Player I have seen for Cardiff and best , Also Don Murray a really solid Guy and how he never made the Scottish team god knows

We didn't see much of him but for me without question it has to be Robin Friday. A genius but a wasted talent he should have been an all time superstar but his reputation preceded him. Mind you the funniest thing he ever did was shit in Mark Lawrensons kit bag after tearing him a new ass on the field then having the baztud get him sent off. Lawrenson has never forgiven Cardiff City since

Hemmerman, Hemmerman, Jeffrey Hemmermen etc etc.

i rememeber when we had o'neill on loan, he stood out a mile for me.
Fri Jul 04, 2014 11:04 am
Toshack.
Fri Jul 04, 2014 11:07 am
For the level we were at,at the time, Robert Earnshaw.
Natural finisher.

Earnie for the amount of goals he scored.
I liked Chopra when he was first here.
O'Neil was amazing whilst on loan. We beat West Ham 4-1 with him in the side (I think! ?)

This about sums it up for me with Dave Bennett thrown into the mix.

Only 19 so would say Earnie(should have played for bigger prem clubs than he did IMO)
Ramsey when he came back on loan you could see he was something special
JFH also showed moments of his class eg. The goal against Wolves in the cup!

I overlooked Bennett, he was certainly some player. Another I liked was Ronnie Bird, definitely not the most gifted but really committed. His was the type of attitude we need for the coming season.

Can I pick two? Tony Evans and Adrian Alston.

Barrie Jones & Bobby Brown not the singer

The most talented would have to have been Robin Friday a genius.
Fri Jul 04, 2014 3:12 pm
Jason Koumas when he felt like it.
Was outstanding on times

i remember his first game for us, coming off the bench v leeds, what an amazing game.

Ian Gibson was terrific. But it has to Ivor or the Don. There, I've sorta picked 3
Fri Jul 04, 2014 4:33 pm
Phil Stant and Carl Dale. They both knew where the Net was....would have loved to have seen them at a higher level. Bellamy and Ratcliffe were good in defence together.

On his day Bothroyd
