We couldn't expect to keep him really, will only improve next season learning from Rio and the captaincy burden will be taken off him.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp said of Caulker: We've agreed a fee with Cardiff and it's now up to Steven to decide his next move.
"I know him well from Spurs and he's always been a tremendous prospect. Hopefully that's another one we can get done."

In fairness to those who gave the contracts the likes of caulker and medel would only sign for us if such clauses were put in. We get our money back and save 2million a year in wages plus bonus if caulker goes

We should be able to get a decent replacement for half the cost we paid for Caulker.

Not lost a penny on Steven Caulker

But he himself like many others have contracts made up, so if a club is relegated they can leave, happens at all clubs.

I was surprised when we pulled off the signing last summer, and the only way that could of been done was with clauses like this in his contract.

Sad state of affairs in football hopefully we will get our money back on most signings

I think that's a load of rubbish the only ones to blame for the clauses in the contracts in players like Medel,Caukler and Cambell are Malky and Moody it's obvious they did not plan for the future but just when out and signed those players anyway for ridicules money we don't have and that's why they both rightfully lost there jobs

At least the release clause threshold wasn't set too low so money back and just wish him well I say.

How about his wages over the last 12 months? Surely that's money lost? 1M +

Did you expect him to play for free or something?!

I think City have done really well to recoup virtually all the money for a player who was at the heart of the second worse defence in the league & when the best player was the keeper. He was brought in to do a job & in truth he failed.

Even the worst negotiator in the world should have made at least 20% on the deal!
