Ex-Man Utd midfielder Quinton Fortune set to join Cardiff City staff

Fortune to join Cardiff coaching team



Cardiff City are lining up former South African international Quinton Fortune to join their coaching staff.

Fortune, is a former Manchester United team-mate of Bluebirds boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He is set to play a role with City's development side following the departure of the squad's manager Kevin Cooper to Swiss outfit Servette.

The 37-year-old spent seven years at United between 1999 and 2006 winning three Premier League titles.

He also played for Majorca, Atletico Madrid, Bolton, Brescia and Doncaster Rovers and won 46 caps for South Africa.

I read in Alex Ferguson book that fortune was quite involved with doing hits of coaching. Good to get his own people involved.

As a player he was versatile and perhaps he over-achieved. I find these types of players have a good football brain and you would think would make a good coach.
