November Reading Clash Rearranged
Cardiff City's home game against Reading in November has now been brought forward by 24 hours.
We were set to host Nigel Adkins' boys on Saturday November 22nd, but the game has now been rescheduled for Friday November 21, and it will carry a 7.45pm kick off.
The change has been made owing to a clash with Wales' international rugby encounter at the Millennium Stadium on the Saturday, so with a mind to not only the number of fans in the City at the point, but equally fans who may want to attend both matches, ours has moved forward the 24 hours to provide some breathing space.
The game hasn't yet been selected for live broadcast, but remains in contention for such.

There were problems it was an absolute nightmare getting to the game.
I'm glad it's not on at the same time.

I thought we'd left those days of having to move because of the rugby behind.
No doubt lots of those fair weather fans from last season would have chosen to go to the rugby if the games were on the same day.
I miss the old chant "You can shove your f.....g rugby up your arse"
Sideways.

2 games scheduled for the same day. One is 2 international teams, one team being the best team in the world and current World champions, the other team is 120 times European champions The other game is 2 club teams not even in the top domestic league but Cardiff have won the FA cup
From a commercial point of view you have 70,000 V 30,000 people spending their money
Rugby fans will stay in the city centre longer, thus spending more again
More TV views for the rugby in turn creating a larger sponsorship income

Obviously there is no financial clout in the Football League compared to the Premier League coz if memory serves me right we were home to Arsenal last season the SAME day as the rugby between Wales and Australia I think it was ??? Money talks and the Premier League has an abundance of it .....but the Championship has to bow down to the rugby !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hate to be pedantic but 7:45pm isn't 24 hours earlier than 3pm...

City will do well to get 20,000 let alone 30,000 for tis fixture.
I think the point is that last season both games (City v Arsenal and some meaningless rugby friendly) went on at the same time so why not carry on with that and leave us with a blank Saturday to fill?
