Scarfgate was Julian Jenkins and Borleys idea

Wed Jul 02, 2014 2:25 pm

Me and my bro always said it was Julian jenkins idea and Steve Borley confirmed it, so its not all Tan, Borley and Jenkins are behind most of the Red :ole: :ole:

Was Julian Jenkins responsible for scarfgate?

I remember that he was promoting it on twitter at the time. Ive had a delve through Jenkins timeline and found this.

Half way down the comments Steve Borley says

@Julianj1973 cheers mate been getting a battering on here over your idea

So,is Tan being held responsible for something that wasnt his idea,im sure he would have had final say on it,but maybe it wasn't all done because of ego and spite at the fans for not taking up red in numbers.
Just someone else's bad idea.

Interesting.

Did Sam Hammam have any influence over VT regarding the re brand?

Clutching at straws there Rick, unlike you.

I can 100% tell you he never.

I do believe though that people within our club, to suck up to Tan encouraged the Red and came up with ideas.

Just a thought Annis. Sam wanted his money back since 2006, he also wanted to re brand City during the 2000/1 season (green, new badge,, with the Cedar tree emblem on it).

Like you said, just clutching at straws,,, but how much influence/advice/consultant, has SH been to VT over the last couple of years?

I do recall Dave Jones being a subject of this??

Rick, he did for Wales, not for China or Malaysia, plus 100% we went against him for it and he listened to us :thumbright: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

I accept that Sam wanted to "Unite" Welsh football under one club (which was never going to work in any case) but did Sam agree, even in principal, to VT's rebrand of our club? Did Sam support the original proposals to the whole project??

Sam said to me to support Tan, I said from that second never ever ask me that again and dont discuss him.
Sam had no power at our club and had no say whats so ever and still does not, Sam has not had any say since 2007.

Its just my opinion of the guy but i met Julian Jenkins multiple times when i was designing badges and kits etc for the club.. He appeared to be Against the rebrand and not for it. He was proud to be blue. So for me i cannot believe that he would come up with scarfgate and if he was involved then he was just following orders to do so.. I may be wrong but to me hes a bluebird to the core.

one or two people have described him to me as a "snake in the grass" stitching up people left right and centre
