Bolton set to miss out on Mason
BY BEN REARDON ⋅ WEDNESDAY JULY 2, 2014 ⋅
Bolton Wanderers are set to miss out on Cardiff City striker Joe Mason, according to the Bolton News.
Reading are now favourites to sign the 23 year old Plymouth born striker, and will table a bid once their long awaited takeover is complete.
Reading are now the front-runners to land Mason
Samrit Bunditkrisada is all set to take control of Reading, and is looking to spend the money in which they made from the Adam Le Fondre deal, to land Mason.
Adkins has indentified Mason as the man who can lead the Royals to promotion, and is hoping that some kind of swap deal can be arranged, with Le Fondre recently heading to South Wales.
Mason impressed during his loan stint at Bolton last season, scoring eight goals in his two loan spells in the North West.
Freedman has made no secret that he hopes to secure signing both Mason and Jutkiewicz on a permanent deal, with Mason looking to be frozen out at the Cardiff City Stadium, following the Bluebirds summer dealings.

"Money paid"? "Swap"deal??
So basically a one for one swap deal, with little or no funds transacted???

Thought Reading needed the money from lefondre to pay their debts?

Why is Mason being let go?
I prefer him to Maynard, Jones, and Beget.
He has proved he can score at Championship (and Carling Cup final) level.

Are we keeping Craig Noone? I always felt Mason and Noone were equally as good. I wanted to see Mason have more games but I guess Noone was favoured by MM.
I wish we were not selling Mason. He is good player and knows where the onion bag is.

I think Malky helped develope a number of players but a huge weakness of his was ignoring squad players. So many players on the fringes were ignored and let to rot almost.
Mason should have been loaned out the last 2 seasons and we would have had a player then.
