Birmingham Reject Bid For Midfielder

Wednesday 02nd July 2014

Birmingham City have rejected a bid from Cardiff City for midfielder Tom Adeyemi according to Sky Sports.

Cardiff are eager to strengthen their ranks following relegation from the Premier League and could feel that chasing a player at Birmingham would be cheaper than several alternatives.

Adeyemi, just 22, has a contract until 2015 and has massively increased his reputation since joining Birmingham from Norwich on a free transfer. It could be said that he is currently at the highest point of his career having previously spent time at Oldham and Brentford. The midfielder made 35 appearances last year, scoring against Millwall in a 4-0 win.

Birmingham are unlikely to want to sell the midfielder due to his importance to the first team and it is unclear whether the bid was of an acceptable amount. Adeyemi only has one year to go on his contract though and Blues may not have much choice if he decides he would like to move on.

Echo says this is way off the mark, stating we were tracking him a few months back but nothing has came of it. Not the most reliable source but just something I read this morning. :ayatollah:
