How has he failed on either of those? Money had been made available and the turning the club debt free is a long term project not a short term one.

Nothing, if anything it has damaged the club irreversibly

there hasnt been any.....the rebrand has been a disaster..
Tue Jul 01, 2014 11:41 pm
The only benefit plain and simple was that we didn't go under.
However we will NEVER know if that was possible and the benefit will not totally come to fruition until the debt is written off.

Transfer investment for the season we went up.

the rebrand itself though has failed Nat...............red is a disaster here to such a degree that even if his plans were broader { asia } a red team with blue fans aint going to work...........i dont think Tan has been a disaster though.....

its a matter of opinion if re brand is or was success? financially more debt but no tax man ect ect banging door down! new training ground if council get arse into gear! been in premier questionable if it would have happened without tan due to our financial problems before him! negatives well losing shirt colour altering badge but that effects some more than others! bad publicity?? thats the main negative but there again put us on the world map! so basically its how people perseave the rebrand that will say if its been worth it? short answer is yes and no depending on your view point!

Can't one of the mods merge this thread with the other 45,000 threads on the same topic?

My reply was because I don't think you can look at it independently of anything else. It went with all of the other things, all of which tan has so far kept to. I felt the op was just trying to go over old ground which was more than covered in my thread. But this was just another attempt to start waving that stick again because the other thread was not going in their favour.

For me NONE as all I wanted was the debt to equity deal which was the MAIN factor for 90 percent of fans over the rebrand I'm sure. That's not happening either now ( A little bit ) now we are told if we get promoted which is another promised myth broken like many others. We are no better off than before he come only in a worse mess on and off the field imo.

We'd be a struggling champ side in blue with this badge

The benefits were a £140,000,000 cash investment when we were on the verge of going bust?

To answer the question there has been no benefits resulting from the rebrand.
The question should be what have the benefits been of Tan putting his money and running our club.
The major disappointment for me is not turning the debt to equity as promised , as I would have lived with the rebrand if Tan had done this. I have been a City fan since 1970 and we can look back at the lower divisions with rose tinted glasses but there has been some dire years.
For me if the debt is not converted to equity then we should be blue as that was the deal.

Nothing like a good rebrand thread to start the day off
Wed Jul 02, 2014 8:35 am
Couple of things that us old stagers should have noticed:
1. We're not lurching from one court appearance to another fighting for the very survival of our club.
2. We're not HAVING to sell at least one of our best players every season just to pay the taxman.
It is debatable as to whether either of those are directly due to the re-brand but they are certainly down to VTs investment/loans.
Having said that I would like at least 50% of the VT debt turned to equity and to go back to blue and personally don't see any real reason why that shouldn't now happen. If VT is confident of going straight back up, and why not, then surely if he converts now he will be in a good position to get a pay back on that investment and be in a position of strength.
Similarly if he was to announce that we will return to blue 2015/16 then he could unite the club, to a degree, and set us up for a this season with little disruption and evry one pulling in the same/similar direction.

None, apart from massaging the ego of Tan.

£100m worth of investment - which we can see in improved playing squad, stadium and training facilities.
Langston have been paid off.
We had a season in the Premier League.
Furthermore, and most importantly, WE STILL EXIST.

We would have gone under by now without Vincent Tan's money.

This is what I posted in a previous thread regarding Tans contribution and the re brand which i believe was a massive own goal.
There is no doubt that when Tan came in we were up shit creek without a paddle and HMRC were in applying for a wind up order and there certain didn't seem to be anyone on a white charger riding over the horizon to save us! So Tan comes in and at first things seem good he invests in the team and up until the West Ham play off defeat he doesn't seem to do a lot wrong?
Then he makes a decision which commercially and publicity wise has been a disaster and is hated by myself and thousands of other Cardiff City fans the decision to change our home kit from Blue to Red and a new badge that is and was hard to stomach.
Many say it is only a colour but it is so much more to many fans like myself who have followed City since the early seventies however i don't hate Tan and I accept he has put more investment into this Club than any Chairman I can remember in my time watching the City. We are all watching the World Cup at the moment and we had two players out there who are currently Cardiff City players and I really do have to pinch myself to see how far we have come in the past 10 years I have been to Wembley FIVE times watching City including watching us in the final of the two biggest domestic trophies bloody hell I remember when I got excited if we through to the 3rd Round of the F.A. Cup!
With regard the debt it is massive but we have been in debt to one Chairman or another ever since I can remember and it seems at the moment that Tan is prepared to service the debt and also to provide investment to try and secure an immediate return to the Premiership where we have to be if we are going to stabalise and reduce the debt and get on a better financial footing.
So yes I can see that Vincent Tan has done a lot of positive things but he also made a massive mistake and scored a disastrous own goal with the re brand because without that if we had stayed in Blue with our old badge and a red away kit there would have been far more unity and with that unity we might even still be in the Premiership?
I have posted many times previously that there has to be compromise and for that to happen Vincent Tan must be prepared to have dialogue with the supporters possibly via the Trust or the Supporters Club he also has to accept that the re brand has been a complete failure but he must be allowed to make the change back without losing face and there must be some give and take on both sides.
Personally i would prefer if the Club was owned by a mad passionate Bluebirds fan who was a Billionaire but we have to accept that isn't going to happen and we have to ask what is the alternative to Vincent Tan and nobody seems to know the answer to that? So I will like many others continue to wear Blue and campaign to return to Blue kit at home and the return of our badge however this can all be done without hating Vincent Tan and also by respecting other fans might have a different view to me.
We are ALL Cardiff City fans and ultimately we all want a successful and well run football club can that happen under Vincent Tan only time and compromise can bring that about
