Sky Broadband,no wonder it's free..

Tue Jul 01, 2014 9:28 pm

Email I have sent them..

I have been using ITunes vouchers given to me as a gift to download items for my iphone.
Naturally I assumed Wifi would be the best and fastest source for my download.
Yet my broadband provided by yourselves, downloads at 146.7 kbs, whilst my 3G mobile network downloads at 807.4 kbs.

What would've taken me around 28 minutes on your supply, only took 6 minutes on my mobile network.

I have ran a test a various different times of the day, but they all come back similar..

Sky BB results as posted..

Ping 105ms 4.08 mbs Dwnld 50 mbs upload

Mobile network results as posted.
Ping 35ms 9.10 mbs Dwnld 52mbs upload.

All in all it doesn't make good reading for you or your product.
And I shall be assessing all available optional alternatives to Poor Sky Broadband.

Judging by the recent advertising campaign with MrBeckham,it's no wonder your giving it away.

I await their reply..

You are lucky you got anything Tony.

My internet and phone was supposed to be installed on June 17th, I got told last Friday they will give me an update on July 14th.

Fuming with them.

I got an EE mobile internet dongle that ran out of its data allowance last week and now I have gone over my allowance on my phone as well so this post is bloody costing me too.

Can't even get Virgin in this house so I am stuck with Sky.

I am limiting my internet to keep my phone bill down.

I switched to BT for the same reason, not brilliant but way way faster and more reliable, yet on the same line ??!!

You could have a fault on your line, which is something Sky can deal with, log onto your router and look for the connection status, Post the downstream attenuation and downstream noise margin - this will give more info

I used to be with sky internet and the service was terrible, when I switched to BT they told me
Sky did not have a exchange in the area and that BT rented the line to sky however they cap the useage.

A good way to see what's available in your area is to check on website samknows

Never had any real issues with Sky to be honest - fast, good customer service, easy to follow bills etc...

Am I the only person that doesn't have any issues with Sky? My broadband was set up within a week of setting up my account and I'm getting anywhere between 22-25 Mbps, have done since joining.

Just had a letter off sky, their tv package is going up £2.50 a month, maybe that's paying for the broadband.
