Yedlin, USA!!

Tue Jul 01, 2014 8:57 pm

Blistering pace, skilful, young fullback on the us team. Easily outruns Eden hazard while tracking back. Would be cheap only plays in the msl league. One for OGS?

After seeing a whole 20mins of him lol

Seem to have impressed a lot of people.

His pace is insane. Could do with someone like him.Too many slow players on the team.

Re: Yedlin, USA!!

Was talking about him today in work along with other youngsters playing in MLS.

There must be some bargains. My mate was saying that the salary structure over there is extremely odd

They pay a marquee player like Dempsey a few million a year and then Yedlin will be on no more than about 100k a year.

Can't defend for shit

Re: Yedlin, USA!!

It's difficult to obtain visas for players outside the EU. You would have had to have played a certain percentage of international games to even be considered for a work permit. A youngster like yedlin would have a low chance of gaining a work permit at present, will admit he's got pace to burn. I like that Michael Bradley, looks an intelligent footballer.

I just a assumed that as he was now an international it would be pretty easy to get a visa especially as a yank.

This percentage is based on what? He has now played in 100% of this years world cup games. :)

He defends fine. The guy in front of him doesn't track back at all. Shocking. Surprised some people(cough) don't get this same thing happened to Fabio he got all the blame when noone didn't track back in those first few games he played for us.

He is yes, but it's more complicated than that. He must have averaged participation of over 75% of USAs competitive games over the last 2 years. Judging of tonight, he was a sub so he might not have got on. He seems second choice at present so doesn't always take part in games. They take into account whether he can aid development of the league he's joining, look at his past, financial side etc. That's why you see alot of overseas players from the Americas joining Spanish or Portuguese clubs as their immigration visas are a lot easier to obtain. Obviously if he's a real special talent and it's argued that he's going to aid the league etc, more often than not visas are given.

Not wanting to shift the topic but the last time I looked Spain and Portugal were in the EU.

How come they get to reduce entry rules, how come we charge so much tax on fags compared to others and how are the French able to subsidise their wine producers.

Talking to the wrong person pal. I don't work for the government  I do know that Latin countries seem to have lax laws regards to visas issued to players from the Americas. Why that is I don't know. You only have to look at the amount of players who start their European football at Portugal or Spain, even Italy.

Well if you knew the history then you wouldn't be asking such stupid questions. Very similar reasons how John Barnes and Matt Le Tisser played for England

Why is his question stupid? He doesn't understand a certain topic and you belittle and call him stupid. You've never asked a question your entire life have you? You think very highly of yourself I can see that. Well educated but not intelligent like you claim to be. Just by looking at your history you can see you have no skills. I can guarantee that i'll run circles around your "intelligence", how about I start calling you stupid?

Sorry but did I start with the mud slinging ? Did I tell him to 'f**k off' and call him a 'patronising cock'?

So the next time you want to come in during a conversation it may benefit if you read the comments from BOTH sides before you show your support

Don't worry about it Llanederyn.

I know fully about the historical links between South America and the Iberian peninsula. It was his immediate decision that I did not which prompted my reply.

My point was concerning the inequalities with an EU that should see common treatment for all laws and taxes. Inequalities that makes a mockery of what is supposed to a standardised system of laws throughout the Schengen Area and the UK.

Which is why I said it was off topic. But it's what we should expect from bombastic arsehole politicians and councillors

f**k off you patronising cock. You made a rather damning assumption that got the retort it deserved.

Just because you mud sling in a slimey, MPesque style doesn't mean you didn't start it.

Very apt!

“It takes something more than intelligence to act intelligently.” Crime and Punishment???
Some individuals could do with thinking about this one (I'll leave you to fill in the blanks).

Blistering pace and a real good crosser of a ball but needs to work on his overall fitness, suffered from cramp far too early but would be a great signing.

Must have been a different player. Yedlin was the one who was still running up and down the wing at full speed delivering crosses after 120 min. People were generally amazed at his stamina. Has a good engine, pace and a good first tough,he could work on his positioning did sometimes get caught out but because he is so fast he mostly made up for it .

Yeah that's the one I am talking about. He has really good fitness, people were joking he should be tested since he can still run around like that after 120. His weakness was positioning IMO.
