' Hereford United Away my view '

Tue Jul 01, 2014 6:03 pm

Our football club need to cancel this fixture,I have been to Hereford and been in touch with the Trust there and this game should not be played. Fans will travel if this game is played,no doubts there so city need to cancel the fixture We would be basically playing a Very weak team...here is one response I had from their trust ...in my view our club should look for a different opponent I am sure there would be plenty willing to play us we should urge our club to find another opponent for that day

To Corky,

Thanks for your enquiry about our position.

While there is not currently an official boycott of games, a large proportion of Hereford United fans have indicated they will not attend matches under the current owner. 82% responded to a recent Hereford Times poll to say they'd rather the club go under and start again than support the owner.

The reasons for this vary. In his one month of owning the club it has been relegated two divisions for non payment of debts and these debts, including to over 50 former players and staff from last season, remain outstanding.

Repeated promises of payment have been left unfulfilled and the flow of information from the club is practically non existent.

We will also likely be very poor opposition for Cardiff. The game was arranged when we were a Conference side. We are now Southern League and are giving trials to local Sunday League players with last season's players still unpaid.

The club has reached pariah status locally, with a string of amateur sides rejecting practice matches due to bad publicity. They have arranged a game against a Sunday League side at some point this week, with the opposition newly formed and playing on the promise of a free kit if rumours are to be believed.

In summary, we are no longer the Hereford United that you may remember from our occasional League battles. We are a sorry shell of a team that many fans simply won't support.

If you have any more questions, let me know.

Thanks

Martin.

Cheers Corky, I had a conversation today and was told that Hereford have a court date on Monday which will probably end up seeing the club liquidated, it is a sad state of affairs and like you I believe Cardiff City should (and probably will) cancel this fixture.

What a sorry state of affairs. With all the money that's drowning the PL, a club with Hereford United's history and tradition is reduced to this. One of the greatest games in CCFC's history, (75/76, 35k midweek at Ninan Park), was against Hereford. Hope that, somehow, they re-group, and progress from this. Really feel for their fans.

Why not play merthyr they'd play it instead of mid season

Thanks for sharing that Corky. Terrible when a club with history ends up like this and usually because of inept ownership. Let's hope they do a 'Barry Town United', as they have bounced back from similar circumstances due to an owner who was a loon. I hope that we cancel this fixture as it sounds like the Hereford fans are chewing on a shit sandwich.

I thought the same and I haven't seen anything to state there is a court date on Monday either but that's what was said.

I have just read that yesterday at the High Court, Hereford, were given 7 days in regards to the club entering into a CVA.

you are right, fans will travel regardless. I was intending going - easy trip, bit of sun, beer and a good laugh.

City may send a youth team if it is still on.

Half their fans appear to telling us not to travel, the other half telling us to cancel/not travel - they sound as split as CCFC.

travel or not to travel, cancel or not...to be fair what ever you do the club of hereford united are not going to benefit either way, only the owner...This is our fight not yours, we will be the ones not turning up to line the pocket of these rogues who have infested our club ..... i can see that alot of fans from either side would in normal circumstances would be looking forward to relighting the old rivarly we had down the years.i for one have fantastic memories of our battles on (and off) the pitch but at this moment in time we have a bigger a battle to fight in trying to save our club from being just a memory....anyways i suppose the ones who are comng down for a "few beers and a laugh" probably wont even go to the game if passed experiences are anything to go by.....goodluck for the coming season and enjoy our lovely city if you do decide to travel

I hope not.Its a quick trip. And a great piss up.I used to love our trips to Edgar st.Before our club was filled with plastic supporters'and with the team wearing our true colours. And without A WANKER for an owner.Fun day's.Why not let our fans make their own minds up.

Pity you don't stay in Hereford and support them instead. The term you've used seems to suit you admirably.

Please read the above post from Corky and Martin Watson's statement below.

An announcement of actual 'official' boycott should be issued next week.

Please keep circulating this message - playing or attending this match is contributing to the death of a local, traditional football club with a great history.

Just to point out that the opinion of the Trust aka Martin Watson is unfair and totally bias. The trust HUST set up when they felt the older supporters club HUISA weren't tackling issues with the club, their intention has always been to stage a takeover. They told everyone their plans, got them excited and now sit back to discreetly load the gun and watch their loyal supporters fire the bullets. Same person runs bulls news and unfortunately people seem to think it is official - it isn't, it's all rumours and speculation. For instance they announced Gloucester cancelled, eveyone believed it for 3 weeks until Glos finally released a statement to clarify it was just a rumour on Twitter.
I support our club and dont want to loose our history to a pub league run by football manager-wannabees. After the threats that Grays received they have cancelled (just read their forum if you think im exaggerating - all moved into 'off topic' as it took over their forum). Its a joke that these so called supporters think this is helping! :-(

That would be the trust with over 700 members would it? All wannabee managers etc are they? You are clearly a stooge of the current regime. Indeed, I reckon you are either Neil or Laura Phelps.

Deny any of the following...

1. Tommy Agombar tried to get the leases to the ground switched to his company.
2. He has lied on at least 3 occassions about paying creditors (including £1200 of maternity pay being witheld from an employee)
3. He could have paid the money to stay in the conference (and said he would) then didn't and we were demoted two divisions.
4. He has been in place a month and not one player from last season has received a penny in wages owed.
5. His consultant Andy Lonsdale has a record of fly tipping and destroying a lower league football ground by dumping waste there.
6. We have directors appointed who we have never heard of and no communication has been forthcoming from the club about any of this (but they are involved in waste management, like Mr Lonsdale.
7. Tommy Agombar knows and may be connected to Jed McCrory who just lost a case in the high court in the Swindon Town fiasco.
8. Tommy Agombar knows and may be connected to Steven Vaughan, who destroyed Chester City, Barrow, Widness Vikings. He is following Vaughans playbook according to Chester fans.

Deny any of it. You can't because these are facts.

I'm not the Tommy Agombar appreciation society, I just dont want to see our club be destroyed by its own supporters because they dont like the owner.
Plenty of hearsay, not enough evidence. Im sure we all know people with criminal records it doesnt mean we are hatching plots to overthrow.the world with them! Four weeks isn't long to come inand clear the size of debts we have, especially when it's out your own pocket (allegedly), id be pretty tight on paying out tilli knew it was genuinely owed and my debt too.Its all well and good protesting but bullying other clubs smaller than ours is embarrassing.

There you are....you couldn't deny it. It is fact. I never mentioned his criminal record. As for clearing debts the size of ours, he hasn't cleared any! He is a liar. You are either connected to him or a complete and utter imbecile. Tell me, what's your pin number?

See no one can have a different opinion without being connected. Wake up!

Re: ' Hereford United Away my view '

Sounds all bad, really hope they can get out the mess.

Re: ' Hereford United Away my view '

Fri Jul 04, 2014 6:11 am

It's a complete mess, not helped by the new management not communicating with us, leaving people to make up their own scenarios. Although I have just seen that they did finally release a statement yesterday apologising for the lack of communication and all the problems they are going through so hopefully they will start to tell us what they are doing to sort it out.
All our matches have been called off due to bullying and no club wanting the hassle for their supporters, the reason I want Cardiff to come is because they wont be bullied & it may give smaller clubs confidence to make their own choice not be forced into it. It's about the football at the end of the day and I'd actually like to see or new team! X

Game now off. Sorry to Cardiff fans for all the bickering on this thread. I hope it's clear that 'mrsbull' represents 'her'self and about 2 other Hereford fans. It's not 'about the football' anymore, even if there was any...

cheers all. hope we can play you when we get our team back.
