Potential to be a star but will he fulfil that potenial?
Great on the ball and great going forward I think he could be a quality attacking full back, my concern though is he good enough defensively to fulfil his potential and be a star and will he be good enough defensively for us this year in the championship? My concern is that he might be too weak and not good enough in the air and in the tackle to be a quality full back? What do you think annis and others interested to hear your opinions?

What chance do you think of him being pushed up to the left wing?

None. We have daehli on the left wing and OGS just bought a new left winger.

Going to be a Future star at the club and will be loved by fans as hes a local lad and fan.

If we stayed in premier league wouldnt be confident in him being a first choice starter at present but Chanpionship give the lad the chance to impress and get some experiance.

Got told by a coach from the academy yesterday that once Declan is settled in the first team and is encouraged to go forward we will see the true potential of the youngster.

Once he is inside the opposition half is when we will really see his ability shine.

Wow, he's a year and a day older than me and look at what he's accomplished. He gets stick but for a kid in the top flight he's been incredible. People will go straight to expecting him to be the next Luke shaw. I'm just more than happy that our academy has churned out another gpcracking prospect.

Yeah that's a fair comment regarding the new winger. But I do see Daehli as being better on the ball more centrally myself.

Perhaps he could be tested there in a cup run. Ole seems to like versatility.

Daehli would defo be even better in the centre but he is also only 19, in time he will be playing cam or no 10. But as long as he is on the wing and we have the new winger i can't see how declans gonna get a look in.

Daehli's retention is good and he's surprisingly tenacious but a no.10 is a tough position in the championship against a battling midfield. I liked the mazy little run he had I think against Bolton, I want to see him constantly trouble cb's like that next season. He'll stick it on a plate with our firepower. Against teams like millwall I may prefer a stronger player like burgstaller out wide.

There's a long way to go yet Annis.......I remember Rhys Weston playing in the top flight.

John still has a lot to do, he certainly has talent but he has do much to improve on. I'm unsure if he is good enough at the moment to be a first choice left back.

Bottle job, just like the rest unfortunately. Blew his chance on the big stage!

He did ok last season considering his age but in truth the left side of our defence was our achilles heal, so many goals conceded from that side.

Said it before the only time daehli played as number 10 coincidentally was against a championship team. Wigan in the cup, he was man of the match in all the major papers. So we know he can do it. Get a feeling he would be more influential if he wasn't stationed wide, he has great vision we lacked that kind of player in attack last season. So I say let's give it go, perhaps give Declan a go out wide
The new winger is bigger but let's see how he makes the transition to English football . He looks good on YouTube but you never know.
