Will Cardiff City’s loan rangers be given another chance?
by Benjamin James
Monday 30th June 2014.
John Brayford starred for Sheffield United last season
During Cardiff City’s jaunt into the Premier League, many players came and went. Some on a permanent basis, some on a more temporary basis. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that he’s been monitoring the players who have been out on loan and they will get a chance. So, of those who have been away, who deserves a chance?
'John Brayford '
Brayford was signed from Derby for £1.5m and then never got a chance. A really odd situation. He was brilliant for Derby County the season Cardiff won the Championship. There must have been an issue behind the scene because he never got a game for Cardiff before being loaned out to a League One club, where he flourished. Definitely deserving of a chance now he’s back at the club.
' Filip Kiss '
I liked Filip Kiss. Signed in 2011, he was raw but there was some promise there. Played at Wembley, loved a slide tackle. Sadly, he was a victim of our Championship winning season and wasn’t given another chance. Loaned out to Ross County where he scored six goals. I would like to see him given another go but, I’m sure, he’s going to be heading off to pastures new.
' Nicky Maynard '
Signed at the midnight hour by Malky Mackay, he was set for a great season with us until he suffered a serious knee injury at Millwall. Loaned out to Wigan last season, he is a very skilful player. With Campbell off, Maynard is the natural replacement and I’m sure Ole will give him the chance he deserves.
' Joe Mason '
Joe Mason was another victim of Malky’s spending spree as Cardiff won the league. Young, quick and raw, he scored plenty and at Wembley during our League Cup final run. Deserved some game times last year but spent a lot of the season on loan at Bolton. Deserves some game time under Ole but the signings made so far suggest his future may lie elsewhere.
' Simon Moore '
Signed from Brentford last season, the 24-year-old keeper was loaned out to Bristol City last season. With David Marshall getting attention from elsewhere, Moore could be battling out for the number one jersey with Joe Lewis. If Marshall goes, Moore has a big future at the club. If Marshall stays, Moore might be better off elsewhere.

The only one I can see being given a chance there is Brayford, the others will be shipped out imo

I like Joe Mason but I wouldn't say he was quick.

The only one I see possibly making a break into the squad is Brayford. Although I hope ole spots masons talent because I think he's only guna go elsewhere and score, looks less likely after our signings mind

I really liked Joe Mason and thought he would improve with age. I honestly thought Maynard had gone.
Would take either of them over Kenwyn.
Either way there is going to be some serious biz done in July

Mason always played better behind oe with another striker. He reminds me of A championship Thomas Muller, not fast nor striong but knows where the goal is. Malkys hoofball didn't suit we played more in the previous season
