Crystal Palace are trying to sign Cardiff striker Fraizer Campbell despite their fraught relationship.
Campbell has a £1million release clause in his Cardiff deal, which has been activated by an offer from Leicester.
Palace are prepared to match that bid but a move to the south London club is complicated by the ‘Spygate’ scandal which saw Cardiff report Palace to the Premier League over allegations that they obtained inside information about the Bluebirds team before a 3-0 win in April.
But Palace boss Tony Pulis is determined to get 26-year-old Campbell, who netted six League goals in Cardiff’s relegation season.
