By a similar logic, Suarez has let his country down, but also tarnished the reputation of LFC. As a result, he could well be sold.

The point about Medel being not a representative of Chile when he plays for Cardiff is equally spurious. To have a relatively poor country mentioned in connection with a Premier League Club increases the uptake of Sky, etc all over the world.

So all it means is his value went up? I was correct then. Medel's performance won't gain extra supporters from Chile or anything else so the only positive is his value going up. The club's reputation doesn't rise, there won't be agents for big players phoning Ole trying to get him to sign them. All it means is his value goes up, nothing more.

Medel played a vital part of Chile's World cup success. If our midfield had stronger players he would've shined for us in Premiership.
