Not bad for a short arse playing out of position who's been overweight and unfit all season.

This is no surprise to me. Well done GM for a cracking job in Brazil!

He has been dogged in defence despite obvious height issues and some of his longer passes have been nothing short of sublime. If OGS could have unlocked his motivation to play like this, imagine where we would be now!!!

Medel is a class act as shown by his inclusion with players like Messi and Neymar. Not too shabby!

Hope he stays with us but I guess he is almost certain to leave. Good luck for the future if that is the case.

Although I'd love to see him stay as he'd be brilliant in the Championship surrounded by relatively better players, his value must have shot up this World Cup and I can see us breaking even on him, if not making a slight profit

In hindsight I think we over paid for him, even after his performances at the World Cup.

We should though break even as you suggest. Could even sneak a small profit.

Being CCFC we will probably get 8 for him and make a slight loss (no huge bother if we do)

Fair play to him, he has played well for chile at times as usual.

He still cant cut it at Premier League level though.

I think a big criticism of him was that despite his high passing accuracy his passes mainly went backwards. Perhaps playing a cb limits this and so we've seen an improved performance. Would have been interesting to see him playing at CB in the Prem and whether he would 'cut it' in that position better than he has at cdm.

He would be eaten alive at CB in the prem.

That's a pony team fair play
I do agree though medel should be in any team with a strong defensive back line based on performance.
there are big teams who have gone out who have had good individual performances.
u can't leave Ronaldo out and put in usa players ffs

in a losing team, we never found out last season.....what was there to lose in trying?

Medel suffered from a combination of tactics, style of football, and having no real quality around him.

He is comfortably a top 8 team player, would of said that even before he went away.

Ronaldo has been anonymous in this tournament.

It's a team of the tournament. Not a team of best players. Team of the tournament is the players who have done well in this World Cup.

Ronaldo has been garbage.
