QPR looking to beat Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton and Southampton to Steven Caulker

NEWLY-PROMOTED Queens Park Rangers have joined Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton and Southampton in the chase for Cardiff star and former Tottenham man Steven Caulker.

Steven Caulker looks set to leave Cardiff after they were relegated from the Premier League.

The 22-year-old is set to leave the Welsh outfit this summer after their relegation from the Premier League, with Everton understood to be his preferred destination thanks to their offer of first-team football and the opportunity to work under Roberto Martinez.

Arsenal and Liverpool are also keen as they look to add some English talent to their squads, whilst Southampton could launch a bid should they lose unsettled centre-back Dejan Lovens.

However, all four sides could now be trumped by Harry Redknapp, who is desperate to bring Caulker to Loftus Road.

QPR are focused on beating relegation comfortably after winning 1-0 in last season's Championship play-off final against Derby County, and Caulker would provide Redknapp's team with a unique blend of top-flight experience and talent.

A lucrative contract plus a key-player status could tempt the commanding defender to snub the Toffees and make the switch to north-west London.

QPR are confident they can land Caulker ahead of the competition.

I accept he's likely to move on - and good luck to him, but I don't care where he goes, just want us to get a decent fee for him.

Wish they'd just get it done now.

Don't really want to lose any of them, but Medel, Marshall and Caulker should move for their own good and for as much money as poss to put a hole in our debt.

Queens Park Rangers want to make Steven Caulker their next signing.
The newly promoted London club have made a bid for the Cardiff City centre half and ideally want to team him with Rio Ferdinand at the heart of a new-look defence.

Rangers are one of several clubs keen on the 22-year-old England international, who is expected to leave Cardiff following their relegation last season and has a release clause in his contract.
Caulker has family in the south of England who he wants to remain close to - another factor in Rangers' favour.

ffs surely if he got a release clause that's all any team need to offer
any bidding war will be between rival clubs and caulkers agent therefore who ever offers caulker the biggest contract will probably win his signature :bluescarf: :ole:
