Fraizer Campbell will be a welcome addition to Leicester City's strikeforce but they may need even more fire power in the Premier League, believes Alan Young.
Campbell looks set to sign from Cardiff after meeting City boss Nigel Pearson this week.
Former City centre-forward Young believes the Manchester United graduate will fit in well at the Premier League new boys.
But Young believes City may need another striker on top of Campbell to give them enough punch up front going into the new season.
City are understood to have had three bids turned down so far for Brighton's Leonardo Ulloa and have cooled their interest after being quoted a £10million asking fee.
There also remains doubts over David Nugent's future as he still has not agreed a new contract, with pre-season testing starting next week.
Even if Nugent does stay and Campbell signs, Young, who scored 29 goals in 119 appearances for City between 1979 and 1982, believes the club will need even more options in attack.
"I think Campbell would be a good addition," said Young.
"He has played a few games at the top level now and will bring a bit of experience to the squad.
"He did well at Manchester United but then had a few injury problems at Sunderland.
"But whenever he played he always seemed to be a handful.
"Last season with Cardiff, I think he got nine goals in 39 appearances but he scored a couple of really good goals.
"He looks a worker, a really willing runner and a guy who will try to get the ball back when he loses it.
"He might just bring that wee bit of know-how and quality that may rub off on the other strikers.
"If we do sign him, it will be interesting to see who the manager starts with in the first game.
"He will have Campbell, Chris Wood, Jamie Vardy and David Nugent, and don't forget he has Gary Taylor-Fletcher and young Tom Hopper, who is rated highly, to get a new contract. But have they got enough?
"It is going to be vitally important that we have enough firepower to deal with any injuries we may have and any suspensions. It is important we can fill those gaps with a bit of quality.
"I am not sure whether Campbell coming in will be the last of Nigel Pearson's business.
"They maybe need one more striker, someone with plenty of Premier League experience. Campbell will have that to a certain extent."
Young knows that proven strikers at Premier League level are not cheap and admits a big-money arrival could unsettle the priceless harmony among the City squad.
"You want a striker who has scored goals in the Premier League but you have to shell out an awful lot of money for a player like that," he added.
"I am not sure the mantra at the club at the moment is to pay out millions of pounds.
"I think they have got to keep that dressing room on an equilibrium. If someone walks in on £70,000 per week then it won't work. I think clubs see that now.
"I think clubs don't want a big-time Charlie, they want an honest player.
"I think they will look to bring someone in with a wee bit of experience."

On FoxesTalk there's a rumour going around that they're gonna sign that Pelle fella from Feyenoord.
