Should a National team manager sing the team's anthem......when he is a different nationality? Just a bit odd to see Klinsman singing the USA anthem!

Most definetly not, it's not a surprise as Klinsman thinks he's your typical American now.

Doesn't Klinsman have an American wife? He does live and work there, so perhaps he feels American. Surely he's just showing respect to his adopted country?

Who cares.

I think people should sing the national anthem of any country they identify with. Some have dual citizenships you know, some aspire to.

Bit like saying Ashley Williams, Simon Church, Andy King, Jonathan Williams and James Chester shouldn't sing out anthem. If you are representing that country you should sing the anthem.

I am a Welshman, born and bred in Cardiff from parents who are both Welsh.
I consider myself Welsh and British
I am proud to be Welsh and equally proud to call myself British.
Something that has troubled me (especially at Wales v England Games) is why do the English sing the British national anthem?
It is my anthem as well ?
About time the English chose their own national anthem, then all proud British citizens could sing "God save the Queen" without looking like an England supporter.

Tosh had the right idea. Scrap the national anthems before international games. Just a load of posturing. I go to the home Wales games, and my first language is Welsh. But I really can't be bothered. Lets get on with the game!

Bare in mind if England had a new anthem not all Brits would sing god save the queen, quite a lot of people don't want a monarchy like myself.

Surely if you hold a passport and a citizen of the country then you should respect your adopted country and sing its anthem. If people think its strange seeing Klinsmann do that then with more immigrants coming in each year then give it a few years and no-one will sing the national anthem

The same people slagging Klinsmann off for singing the US national anthem are probably those who slag off immigrants for not adapting to our culture.
He has lived in the states for ten years or so, I think it's great he sings there anthem as a true German-American which he is.
