You have well, every, first century historian willing to disagree with you on that one.

Good for them. Personally, anyone who bases their life around a make believe character, i find extremely silly.![]()
There's also a lot of scientists that would be willing to disagree with your historian friends.

there's an extremley high probability the jesus (the person) existed. as for the magic tricks...well thats obviously up for discussion. but the idea that whe whole historical figure is made up is pretty far fetched as its widley believed he did exist as in individual

High probability? It's as certain as Caesar.
Josephus, the secular Roman historian, wrote about his miracles, one of 37 accounts many of which are not by Christians.
Heck, we even began our whole year count system again because of this guy! (approx 2014 years since Christ was born though due to timing quirks we are a couple of years out).
I think the whole universe being created out of nothing is far fetched. Something had to cause it, because it had a beginning. an eternal God being such a cause is far more sensible than invoking some other entity that would also have to be explained.

well...i agree that something from nothing is quite unlikley, but i once saw a documentary called "before the big bang" which had a lot of physisists giving some really interesting alternate theories...worth a watch

Genesis 1 & 2 also worth a read - literally fits right in with all scientific evidence.
1. The universe had a beginning. Check
2. The beginning happened very quickly, 'Let there be...'. Check.
3. Large influx of species populate it. Cambrian Explosion. Check.
