' ENGLAND ARE OUT OF WORLD CUP '

England are out of the World Cup after Costa Rica beat Italy 1-0.

Roy Hodgson has been told his job is safe by the FA.


First time since 1958 England have failed to reach knock out stages of a World Cup and first time ever to lose opening two games.

England now need a new modern/young enthusiastic manager, no more dinosaurs.

Some great young players coming through, out with Rooney and Gerald.

Theyve lost 2 and still have the best team in the group to play.

main problem is the Premier League. It is one of the best leagues in the World, no doubt. But the reason for that is, that World class import players play for English clubs... imo they need more homegrown players at the top level, there is a lot of talent in Britain, but look at the starting 11s at the PL clubs, especially the top 5...

Italy looked potential World Cup winners after defeating England. Italy r then made to look completely average in their next game by the expected pre tournament whipping boys, Costa Rica. Defeated 1-0. Don't say a lot for England does it?
I'm not an England boo boy, I wanted them to do well but, where r they goin wrong?
For me, to play Lallana throughout the warm up games, only to drop him to play two different strikers in yr position (left mid/wing) in opening 2 games is baffling!

Then the best British players go to the continent (mega cash) its so predictable style of play, it worked in 1966 f**k the long ball- run at them. I'm welsh, born and bred, but f*** me when i watch England play they are shit.

Stop bringing in foreigners ( not being racist) but how can a team communicate when half the team cant understand a word they speak on the pitch? never mind dressing room.

Rooney is England's best player.
An what's the point in changing the manager nobody could of done anything different they just don't have the players.

England's problem will always be at grassroots level. Physique > Technique is not the way to go. You need both of course but how many players in England's set-up are creative? Only Rooney on his day, and he isn't on his day enough for England.

Of course it is another disappointment for England but over the two games they've been the better side. With better finishing they'd have at least 4 points right now. Sacking Roy isn't the way to go, he's set his side up well, they've played positive football. There is no standout manager who'd take over England so what would be the point in sacking the manager when it's the players fault? He should ditch Gerrard, play a defensive midfielder and drop rotate Rooney more often.

If Italy play like they did yesterday against Uruguay, they will be out too.

I was hoping that England would do well, but it just hasn't happened. It was a bit touch and go in the qualifiers, before a strong finish. Agree with the view that there are too many foreigners in the PL.

Couldn't care less what what Roy Hodgson does with the team, just like I don't care what Joachim Low or Gordan Strachan do with there's.

There was no need for Colleen Rooney to pay for the extra luggage allowance on 15 cases after all!

For such a large nation, over 50 million they are shocking. All the state of art training etc...makes the efforts of far smaller populations like Belgium, holland, Croatia and Uruguay seem all the better.
