Last seasons kit/ worked for pro blue

Wed Jun 18, 2014 5:49 am

Personally I find it hard accepting the red strip, I mean I got a bluebird tat on my back that I've had for several yrs and the reason I got a bluebird with ccfc was due to the fact I didn't want a badge when being aware clubs tend to change badges. I wanted something no one could take away or change ha I'll always be a bluebird no matter what anyone does to badge or name it's in my blood. Now I'm totally all for going back to blue but I feel if the club hadn't come up with such a gash kit for our first premier campaign and had actually turned out a stunning piece of kit then a lot of our supporters would of sat on the fence with regards to the blue campaign. Personally I'm glad how it all panned out and long live the bluebirds but my question is this, if tan manages to bring out a top drawer piece of kit do you think along with a promotion push it will see a decline in the numbers in the bring back blue campaign? You have to admit us football fans are a fickle melting pot of characters and stragglers. Oh and on a final note bloooooooooooooobirds

I don't really agree I think most people couldn't look past the colour and badge rather than the design of the kit. I have owned some terrible looking kits in the past both home and away but have bought them knowing it's my team and when on holidays or away somewhere have worn it with pride even the cheapy itchy one with havelet leasing on. The fact it's the least selling premiere kit is great news all round.

You have a point, a really nice red kit will still draw 'it's awful' comments from some who cannot see past their own bias.

However last seasons kit reveal was a disaster and definitely helped people rally against the rebrand.

I agree with this. I will never buy a red shirt, or any shirt with the new badge. I had the shirt with the Sam Hammam badge, even the red away 1 but the badge was mainly a bluebird.

I can't wait for my supporters trust shirt to arrive and I hope the stadium is full of people wearing them.

I don't think the numbers in the bring back blue campaign will decrease even if we have a good start, or even look like going up.

Let's hope the 19:27 scarfs keep happening too.

But you can't deny people wore the jersey and dare I say even the scarfs during our promotion season, the tide now has defo turned and long May that continue. It just concerns me there wasn't the same concern there the season we got promoted.

I don't know the figures but there may well have been more sold last year than the championship season but still woeful sales for our first season in the premiership. Some people might have had the the first red kit but have been swayed and not purchased last seasons. People have changed their mind on the rebrand and this might have been reflected in the sales.

Let's hope it gathers pace and the tide turns blue, all I want is a blue home strip and the rightful city badge, not too much to ask is it ; )

The quality or design of the kit as nothing to do with the bad sales, the fact is that the vast majority don't want red, no matter how good the quality is.

I thought last season's kit was actually a very nice looking kit, but the fact that it was red made it horrific because that's not how a Cardiff City home kit should look.

Can't agree with the nice kit bit, from where I'm sitting it was a dire piece of shite. Agree that home kit should be blue, but what gets me is supporters who want kit blue but aren't bothered by badge, I don't mind a badge change but there was no effort put in it looks thrown together. Why can't club build bridges with fans and look for input on new club crest and return to blue and incorporate a dragon in club crest with red as away kit, now that's a compromise surely.

The only thing that helped garner the back to blue last year was the poor league form. Nothing more, nothing less

That's just your opinion. I'm sure if it was blue/yellow/white you wouldn't be complaining!

I'm one of those people, I don't like the badge but I can put up with it. Badges change at all clubs from time to time, club colours however should never change.

I would say it was the sacking of Malky, that's when it kicked off last season.

sorry, yes, that probably started it off but it didn't really kick in full flow until the poor league form really hit home

I hate the badge and would find it a bitter pill to swallow even if we were back to blue it doesn't sit right on the blue kit in my opinion and I still wouldn't purchase blue kit whilst it has that badge but that's just me, and who am I? I suppose we just have to wait and see how things pan out, who knows what's in store as there's never a dull moment at the city. The joys of being a bluebird aye
